Chapter 5

At the moment he saw the funeral hall, Nate Grant finally began to believe that his father had passed away.

I saw Julia Sanford holding a gift box, inside the transparent square box was a golden longevity peach.

Now, a longevity peach symbolizing happiness and longevity, gleaming in gold, appearing at his father-in-law's funeral hall, was such an irony.

But there was no sorrow, no shame in Nate Grant's eyes, instead, he was filled with anger as he ran towards me, grabbing my collar.

"Was it you? Was it you who caused dad's death, didn't take good care of him?"

I forcefully pushed his hand away.

"Don't go crazy here! Let dad rest in peace!"

I didn't want to argue with him, relatives and friends were also there, all watching the spectacle. If things got out of hand, it would bring disgrace to his parents too.

"How dare you say that! You still have the face to call him dad! You wicked woman! My dad was fine a few days ago, are you saying you didn't harm my dad?"
