"How am I being unreasonable?" I retorted directly, with no intention of reflecting on myself.


Ethan was taken aback by me, and he recalled the conversation we had last night:


"You always misunderstand my relationship with Olivia Xavier. You saw today; we only have a purely professional relationship, with nothing else mixed in."


"Nothing else mixed in?" I stared into Ethan's eyes as he took a small step back.


"But you can always easily see her strengths. She's gracious and composed, fluent in English, and highly capable at work. You admire every little thing about her."


Ethan reacted swiftly, almost beginning to counter my words the moment they left my mouth:


"She does indeed have those qualities."
