Chapter 7:

"Stop wasting your breath! Give me the phone!" A rough voice interrupted Brian Irving.

"You're Brian Irving's daughter; he still owes us half a million, hurry and bring the money, or you'll never see him again!" With that, he rattled off an address.

"Suit yourselves, I don't know him." I hung up the phone.

Here we go again with the debts!

My hands trembled with anger; a leopard never changes its spots!

What am I to him, just a tool to make money?

Even though I spoke tough and hung up the call, I spent the rest of the day in a daze.

My mind calculating how much savings I had left, wondering if Brian Irving was really kidnapped or just putting on an act...

So much so that I kept making mistakes at work and dropped several dishes.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Lowder! I'll compensate for it!" I apologized repeatedly.

First saying weird things the day before, then messing up at work, I was blushing the entire day in front of Ethan Lowder.
