When I returned to the dormitory, the voices that had been discussing suddenly went quiet.
After a while, the dorm leader, Grace Harrington, cautiously observed me.
"Chloe, are you okay?"
I held my book and shook my head with a smile.
"Of course I'm fine, you don't have to worry about me."
The diva of the dorm stopped eating her durian and immediately placed the other half in front of me.
"I like to eat when I'm feeling down, so you can have this durian. Tomorrow I'll take you shopping, it's all on me."
Another bookworm put her book aside, adjusted her glasses, and took out a book.
"You're studying design, right? I suggest you go to Germany for further studies after graduation. The design program at this university in Germany is internationally renowned."
I looked at them with a smile, thinking Eric Grant is nothing.
How lucky it is in life to have friends like these!
Sitting in the chair, I opened my laptop to show Emily, the one who suggested I go to Germany.
"See, this is my recommendation letter."
As I spoke, I looked up at them, feeling a warm flow in my heart.
"Don't worry, I don't like Eric Grant anymore."
"And I have to thank Evelyn Miller for helping me see Eric Grant's true colors."
Grace Harrington burst into laughter, giving me a thumbs up.
"You're right. I've been saying Eric Grant is not good enough for you. Do you all remember the time we went out to eat together?"
With Grace Harrington's words, I recalled the time after I confirmed my relationship with Eric Grant, he said he wanted to invite my roommates out for a meal.
Since we were all still students, I suggested we just go to the hotpot place nearby.
He said he wanted to give me some face, so everyone would know my boyfriend was great, and chose a Japanese restaurant instead.
But after the meal, Eric Grant made an excuse about not having money and borrowed half of it from me.
Later, quite a few people at school heard that Eric Grant had spent a fortune treating my roommates to a meal.
Eric Grant said it was his roommates who spread the word, and I never brought it up again.
And afterward, Eric Grant never returned the money to me.
I thought relationships were about mutual effort, so I didn't say anything about it.
