Chapter 12

I ate the cake, accepted the gifts, and listened to Ethan Foster give a brief introduction of his past years.

After reviewing everything one by one and confirming there were no issues, he became my boyfriend.

I posted on social media, showcasing the gourmet food and gifts, as well as our intertwined hands.

Lily Xavier's number came through, and I answered—it was Adam Grant's voice, mixed with heavy breathing:

"Grace Weller, why did you block me? Where are you?"

Oh, turns out Adam borrowed Lily Xavier's phone.

It was past eight in the evening, and those two were working overtime together again. It's really tough.

I didn't say a word more, directly hung up the phone, and blocked Lily Xavier's number too.

Ethan Foster drove me home, and when I walked to the door, I found Adam Grant standing in the hallway.

He saw the delicate gift box in my hand and his eyes reddened: "Did he give this to you?"

I nodded: "Yes, he gave it to me as a birthday gift."
