Chapter 10

Adam Grant and I were at a stalemate for quite a while, and finally, at the entrance of the neighborhood, he offered to drive me to work.

Delayed by him for so long in the morning, it was indeed a bit late to take the subway to the company.

I didn't make a fuss, and got into Adam's car.

As soon as I sat down, a hint of wistfulness surfaced in my heart.

I can't even remember how long it's been since Adam last drove me.

Our schedules don't align, so it's always Secretary Miller who comes for efficiency's sake.

After getting out of the car, Adam looked at me deeply:

"Grace Weller, once I'm through this busy period, I'll make a point to apologize to you seriously."

He probably still thinks I'll be standing there waiting for him like I used to.

But I'm not there anymore.

And I don't feel like wasting words with Adam.

The new company is quite nice, and I got accustomed to the work quickly.

It wasn't long before I transitioned to full-time early.
