Chapter 13: The Egg of Divine Tempest

Bai Tian Long sat cross-legged in his courtyard, the morning sun breaking gently through the cloud-draped skies of Hidden Mist Island. His gaze rested on the beast egg nestled within a bed of spirit-forged silks, its surface crackling faintly with arcs of purple lightning. He activated his Eye of Knowledge, and the system screen emerged before him like a translucent scroll, revealing the status of the mysterious egg.

---

Name — ???

Race — Beast Egg

Species — Void Thunder Eagle (Saint Beast Emperor Bloodline)

Attributes — Space • Wind • Thunder

Cultivation — Dormant (Unhatched)

Skills — None (Requires hatching and initial nourishment)

Potential — ★★★☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ (3 Stars out of 10)

Note: Each star represents a bridge and a dimension. 3 Stars signify potential ascension to Godhood and access to the Divine Realm.

Bai Tian Long's breath caught in his throat. A Saint Beast Emperor bloodline… with triple attributes. He stared at the golden characters for a long while, letting the truth soak in.

"A Divine Beast... with potential to cross into the divine dimension itself."

His hand slowly tightened into a fist. There was no doubt. This Void Thunder Eagle egg was destined to change his fate.

And then came the realization—

He, a mere Imperial Beast Taming Student, should never have been able to contract or incubate such a being.

But he wasn't ordinary.

"Because of my awakened talent—Space Strengthening—I'm allowed to break the limit."

The system seemed to echo his thoughts, pulsing faintly with silent approval. His talent allowed him to maintain two powerful contracts beyond his realm and, more importantly, empowered his Beast Taming Space with spatial stability capable of nurturing elite bloodlines.

His smile faded into seriousness.

This wasn't without challenge.

Unlike the lion cub, which was already born and just needed nurturing, the Void Thunder Eagle egg couldn't hatch with just spirit heat or fire-elemental baths. It required pure space attribute baptism—a rare occurrence even among spatial-element cultivators. Luckily, his space affinity wasn't just awakened… it was innate, and strengthened by the system itself.

"It chose me… because I was the only one who could hatch it."

He exhaled deeply.

Suddenly, Bai Tian Long's thoughts turned practical.

Even with both contracts active, the immediate benefit was small.

The lion cub was still weak, far from entering the 1st Order Beast Servant realm. The eagle hadn't even hatched. Until both advanced significantly, he would receive minimal feedback—too little to support his weak body, which still hadn't awakened a spiritual root.

"No matter how rare the beasts... if I can't cultivate soon, I'm still a burden."

Yet there was a hidden optimism. He knew the road of the Imperial Beast Tamer wasn't like that of a martial cultivator—it offered not just strength, but longevity.

Even a newly advanced Imperial Beast Taming Expert—equivalent to Foundation Establishment—could gain an additional few decades of life just through passive beast connection and spiritual tempering. And in today's world, where martial arts and beast taming had merged with cultivation methods, the awakening of spiritual roots had become common.

"In the old era, only 5-10% awakened spiritual roots. Now, it's over 70%... sometimes even 80%."

This meant that almost 90% of all beast tamers had the chance to cultivate like ordinary martial artists.

For Bai Tian Long, this was the opportunity he needed.

Thanks to his Split Soul Avatar—a past life talent—and the feedback loop from Imperial Beast Contracts, his cultivation potential now extended far beyond ordinary tamers. Most second-order tamers, even with low-grade or false spiritual roots, could easily reach the forbidden 10th stage of Qi Condensation, and some could glimpse the gates of Core Formation.

"I must raise both beasts well. With their growth, I'll rise with them."

"A Monarch cub… and a Saint egg. It's my start."

He rose and walked slowly to the cradle of the egg. He knelt and placed his palm upon it. The lightning flared—softly at first, then like a breath recognizing kin. He felt it. Somewhere within the swirling mist of consciousness, the little eagle was stirring.

---

Back in the Beast Taming Space, the little lion cub looked up toward the artificial sky—where a star had been born upon contract. It blinked slowly, sensing the warmth pouring into its bones. The once-suppressed fire and thunder traits began stabilizing, and the cub curled up under the light.

"This space... it's warm. Safe. Like I belong here."

It fell asleep happily, sparks dancing at the edge of its mane.

And outside, Bai Tian Long whispered,

"Grow strong, little ones. I'll carry us forward… and you'll lift me higher."

---

As Bai Tian Long stood beneath the star-studded night, thoughts of his future burning brighter than ever, another storm stirred in the depths of the cosmos

---

City of Slaughter – Blood Sword Sector, One of the Ten

The scent of blood here was older than empires. Crimson fog clung to the sky like battle scars, and echoes of slaughter etched ghostly runes into the very stone. At the heart of the cursed city, within the shattered Palace of Severed Oaths, an ancient dragon slumbered.

His form spanned the length of a battlefield, golden scales glinting with celestial law. Five mighty claws dug deep into the obsidian dais as his chest rose and fell with power-contained breath.

Long Jin Tian, the Pipe Lord of the Blood Sword Slaughter City—once hailed as the Heavenly Dragon of the Nine Realms, now an eternal sentinel.

The silence was broken by thunderous hoofbeats and a surge of divine pressure.

Niu Tian, the Divine Bull, entered the throne hall, his body radiating violet lightning, his expression solemn and thunder-bound. He stopped before the throne but did not kneel.

"Boss…" Niu Tian said, voice deep and unhurried, "Master has grandchildren now."

The great dragon did not stir.

"One of them…" Niu Tian continued, "is named Tian Long."

For a moment, stillness reigned.

Then—a golden eye opened.

Like a gate to divine judgment, it looked down upon Niu Tian.

"Tian Long…?" Long Jin Tian's voice was molten. "That's the old man's name."

Another pause.

"He named his grandson after himself?" the dragon mused aloud, flicking his tail once. "Strange. The old man never struck me as sentimental."

Niu Tian scratched his horn, chuckling.

"Actually… he didn't."

The dragon's massive head tilted slightly.

"What do you mean?"

"It wasn't Master who gave the child that name…" Niu Tian smirked. "It was the young miss."

The air trembled.

A different light entered Long Jin Tian's eyes—shock, yes, but quickly followed by a glint of knowing exasperation.

"Only that arrogant little princess of our palace would dare such a thing."

A booming chuckle rolled out of the dragon's massive throat, shaking dust from the ceiling.

"To name a child after her grandfather without asking him? She really hasn't changed."

He exhaled deeply, steam rising from his snout.

"Still… for her to name him that means she expects something of the boy. Now I'm even more curious."

He rose slightly, golden scales pulsing faintly with sealed power.

"Let's see if the brat lives up to the name she dared give him."

Overhead, divine weapons stirred in silent salute. The blood-stained sky flickered with a faint golden hue, as if the heavens themselves acknowledged that something had changed.

Far away, in the mortal realm, a star dimly shimmered in Bai Tian Long's beast-taming space—unaware that distant gods now watched his fate with interest.
