Heart Check

Minseo didn't kiss her at the airport.

Even though it felt like the perfect moment.

Even though her heart was practically begging him to.

Instead, he did something more dangerous.

He waited.

They stood together in the corner of the arrivals terminal, near a vending machine that hummed softly as tired travelers dragged suitcases around them. The adrenaline from Mina's sprint was fading, and now all that was left was the unbearable weight of everything they hadn't said.

"So…" she said finally, shifting awkwardly, "are you still flying out?"

Minseo's eyes didn't leave her face. "Do you want me to?"

"No."

He nodded, slow. "Okay. Then I won't."

She blinked. "Just like that?"

"You ran through an airport for me, Mina. I'd cancel my career for you."

Her throat tightened.

"That's... incredibly reckless," she said.

"Welcome to real feelings."

She let out a shaky laugh. "God, this is weird."

"I know."

"And messy."

"Definitely."

"And probably a terrible idea."

Minseo stepped closer. "Do you want to do it anyway?"

She looked up at him.

And for once, she didn't deflect. Didn't joke. Didn't run.

"I'm scared," she admitted.

"I am too," he said softly.

She swallowed. "I didn't mean to fall for you. You were supposed to be a Band-Aid. A fake fix. And now I'm standing here looking at you like you're…"

"Like I'm yours?" he offered, voice warm.

She flushed. "Yeah. That."

He reached for her hand, fingers brushing hers gently, deliberately.

"You're not the only one who fell," he said. "I just fell first."

Silence. The good kind.

Then Mina looked at him, really looked. "You're not going to do the client voice now, are you?"

He grinned. "Only if you want to rehearse an engagement scene."

She raised a brow. "I will slap you with a neck pillow."

"I'd deserve it."

They stood there, smiling at each other like idiots.

And finally—finally—Minseo leaned in.

The kiss was soft. Careful. The kind that comes after the chaos, not during. No audience. No performance. Just two people choosing each other in the middle of an airport that suddenly felt like the quietest place in the world.

When they pulled back, Mina whispered, "So what now?"

Minseo tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. "Now we stop pretending."
