Chapter 11
★ Madison's POV ★
I woke up to the third ring of my alarm, I felt so frustrated since I didn't even have a schedule today and I was awake.
I got up from the bed and went into the bathroom to do my daily routine, before changing my outfit and went downstairs for breakfast.
"Good morning Cassie, Good morning Havana." I said when I got into the kitchen.
" Good morning Madi." They chorused.
"Paloma isn't up yet.?" I asked as I didn't see her anywhere.
"Yep, she's out cold... She did have a lot to drink yesterday though." Havana replied as she made the tea.
" True... What are we having for breakfast ?." I asked as I peeped into the pan Cassieopia was holding on the stove.
"Well, as you can see, Cassie is making her Famous Pane tostato con crema di nocciole." Havana gushed excitedly.
- Toasted bread with hazelnut spread -
" Then why are you making omelettes ?." I asked curiously.
" Well I'm making omelettes for paloma, you know she's allergic to nuts. " Cassie answered as she continued what she was doing.
" So Madi. Are you ready for tonight.?." Havana asked excitedly.
" Tonight... What's happening tonight?. "I asked as I went into the cabinet to take out a jar of cookies.
" Don't tell me you've forgotten... You have a blind date scheduled for this evening,Dummy. " She replied with a chuckle.
Ugh....
I totally forgot...
" Right... Whatever. "I said rolling my eyes as I helped Cassie bring breakfast the dining room.
The apartment was indeed quite large with Four bedrooms each having it's own bathrooms, and a kitchen that was quite spacious and a dinning hall just outside the kitchen and the living room wasn't really huge but it could fit 10-20 individuals and they could get comfortable... It was comfortable for us though, Comfy enough that we could all cuddle in every corner and still have enough space to spare it even had a basement and a balcony. Plus it's cheap.
Cassie once said, " The size of the living room was the exact same size of the master's bedroom her parents owned back in Rwanda, because her father died, and her mother remarried, they had to sell off the house, but the memories still remained. "
We'd always watch in admiration as she told stories about her Father. Proof to show how close they really were.
And yes ... We knew about her past, her stepfather and her son. She'd smile longingly as she reminisced about her son. Rayan as she always called in her kinyarwandan accent. She always said he was the best experience that ever happened to her before. She'd bring in his photo album from her bed room and watch with kin interest as she told us about the events where each photo was taken.
She'd tear up as she recapped to us how funny and happy her son was, we'd even cuddle and cry with her. She always had a soft spot for him, and would be lost in thought anytime we brought up any matter relating to kids.
It always baffled me how strong and matured she was at 25... She was always composed and spoke with elegance that you wouldn't even hear her accent, People often mistook her for being a black American.
She was more like a mother figure than a sister to us all.
Lowkey, she was my role model.
"GAWD... I need an aspirin." Paloma said as she came down the stairs holding her head.
"Here.." Cassie said handing out a pill from the cabinet.
"Thanks Cassie." She replied popping the pill into her mouth.
"Guys I had the weirdest dream... You were there, and You, and you...." She said as she slumped on the chair pointing at us as we just stared at her.
"In my dream you both told Madison to go on a blind date and she actually did!!." She exclaimed in disbelief.
"Well, yes, we actually did." Havana said.
"And she agreed?."
"Yes she did... She didn't even have a choice in the first place." Havana said and smirked, making me roll my eyes.
We ate and went to lounge in the living room. We watched a K-drama series called " SQUID GAME ".
Before we even knew it, it was 4:30pm. Havana got ready to go for ballet practice and I went upstairs to take a nap only to be woken up by Cassie at 8:00pm for my 'BLIND DATE'.
I tossed on the bed for minutes before getting up to take a shower. I went downstairs for dinner so I could get ready for the date.
I walked back into my bedroom and I could hear paloma chanting behind me.
"Forza Madison, sbrigati. Vogliamo vedere il tuo bellissimo vestito. " She said.
- Come on Madison, hurry up. We want to see your beautiful outfit. -
I chuckled and changed my outfit to a dazzling black open-back dress with a slit in the front, my hair was tied in a messy bun and my makeup was simple but stunning and walked back into the living room in my 5 inches high heels half an hour later.
"Oh, amore mio, sei bellissima, sbalorditiva, incredibile..." Paloma gushed as I walked in.
- Oh, my love, you look beautiful, stunning, amazing. -
" Thanks paloma. "
" You look beautiful Madi. " Cassie said with a smile.
" Thanks dear.. I'll be going now. " I said and walked into my car and before driving off.
After I got to the address Havana gave me I went into the restaurant making all eyes turn to me.
'Now where do I find a man with a navy blue suit' I thought as my eyes wondered and finally landed on a man who had his head bowed in the VIP section.
I took slow steps as I sat on the empty sit in front of him.
"Okay... Please make it quick... I never wanted to be here so let's make it quick...." I said trailing off when he raised his head up looking at me.
Damn...
He was drop dead gorgeous. His dark blue eyes stared at me as if trying to Pierce into my soul.
With his beautiful pink lips he opened his mouth and uttered.
" Who are you.?"
Silly question....
I was pissed but still managed to answer.
"I'm your blind date, apparently. Havana didn't tell u about me?." I asked dryly, trying to hide my annoyance.
The guy looked at me with a mixture of confusion and amusement. "I think there's been a mistake," he said, his voice low and smooth. "I'm not here for a blind date. I'm just... enjoying a drink."
I felt a surge of irritation. "Well, isn't that just perfect," I muttered feeling my face burning with embarrassment.
"I get forced into this date by my friends, and I end up sitting down with some random guy who's not even interested."
The guy raised an eyebrow. "Forced into a date, huh? Well, I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not your guy."
I stood up,getting embarrassed, God knows I'd give Havana a piece of my mind later. "Don't apologize, I should be. And I'm not disappointed. I'm just relieved that I can leave now."
" Wait... Have a drink or two with me. "He said.
Silence....
" On second thought don't bother, you wouldn't want to spend the rest of the night with a drunk guy like me." He said with a scowl.
My eyes narrowed. "You're drunk? Great. Just what I needed. A drunk, gorgeous, and apparently rude guy."
The guy smirked, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Gorgeous, huh? I'll take that as a compliment."
I rolled my eyes. "Don't. It was just an observation."
With that, I prepared myself to walk away, leaving him sitting there looking like he'd just been dumped. I didn't care. I was done with this disaster of a blind date.
As I stood up to leave, the guy suddenly raised his voice. "Wait a minute, princess! You think you can just walk away, aren't you just another fake Instagram model trying to boost your handle.?"
I turned around, my eyes blazing with anger. "Excuse me? Fake? You're one to talk, Mr. Drunk-in-a-Restaurant!"
The guy sneered. "At least I'm not pretending to be something I'm not. You're just a poser, using your looks to get attention online."
I took a step closer to him, my voice rising. "How dare you! You don't know anything about me. I'm not some Instagram model trying to get likes and followers."
The guy laughed. "Save it, sweetheart. I've seen your type before. You're just a wannabe influencer trying to make a name for yourself."
The commotion was starting to draw attention from other patrons, and I could feel my face burning with anger. "You're just another Asshole who thinks he can talk to anyone just cause he's got money," I shot back. "Well, let me tell you something, buddy. I'm not impressed."
The guy stood up, his eyes flashing with anger. " Do you even know who I am ?. You're just another nobody trying to get famous off my name."
I smiled sweetly. "I'm nobody you'd ever want to meet, trust me. And as for being famous off your name, I don't need to. I have my own identity, unlike some people who hide behind their corporate masks."
The argument was escalating, and people were starting to take videos on their phones.
I didn't care...
I was beyond furious....
Just then, one of the restaurant staff intervened. "Sir, ma'am, please. Let's keep the discussion civil."
The guy turned to the staff member. "Civil? She's the one who's being rude and unprofessional."
I scoffed. "Unprofessional? You're the one who's drunk and insulting me!."
I took a deep breath and tried explaining.
"Look, I'm sorry I walked up to your table, It was accidental, I only mistook you for someone else." I said trying to keep my anger in check.
"Accidental indeed." He scoffed, fueling my anger.
The situation was getting more heated by the minute, and I knew I needed to get out of there before things got worse. I turned and stormed out of the restaurant, leaving the guy and the commotion behind.
To be continued....
