A Water Family Descendant Seeks My Treatment

"Let's welcome the God-Slaying White Demon and the Human-Faced Phantom into the arena!"

As the host spread his arms wide, Ignaz walked onto the soul-fighting platform alongside a graceful woman with a stunning figure. The woman exuded an alluring aura that had its own unique charm.

"It's been ages since I've seen the Human-Faced Phantom. Look how much she's grown!"

"You got a death wish? If she hears you talking like that, believe me, the moment you step out of this black market, you'll lose your head."

...

Amid the heated discussions among the spectators, both fighters stepped onto the soul-fighting platform. The Human-Faced Phantom placed her left hand on her hip and licked the dagger in her right hand, her entire demeanor radiating seduction. She said casually,

"White Demon, I've heard your name. Too bad that scarred fool was useless. I'm really curious about your true face under that mask. Why don't you surrender now and let me take you as my manservant? That way, you might actually live to see another day."

"Ha! Human-Faced Phantom, sounds like you're the one who's scared of losing. If that's the case, why bother entering this soul-fighting competition at all?"

Ignaz responded to her threatening words by countering with the overwhelming presence of a true powerhouse.

Both fighters released their auras without holding back, warily observing each other.

The host quickly flew into the air and announced loudly,

"The battle between the two strongest Spirit Grandmasters begins now!"

The moment the host finished speaking, the Human-Faced Phantom immediately activated her second soul skill:

"Realm of Truth."

A ghostly light shot rapidly into Ignaz's forehead. The energy moved at light speed—even Ignaz couldn't dodge it. Both fighters stood motionless on the soul-fighting platform as their consciousness was pulled into another world.

Ignaz now found himself standing in the center of hellish flames, bound by several iron chains. Dozens of pitch-black swords, still being forged and never before drawn, shattered directly before him.

Hidden within the illusion, the Human-Faced Phantom saw this extremely sinister, fiery realm filled with slaughter and couldn't help but feel somewhat frightened.

In her battles with countless spirit masters, the vast majority of illusions she constructed involved sordid affairs between men and women. She never expected to witness such a scene of carnage today.

But so what? Watching the White Demon struggle futilely, the Human-Faced Phantom, merged with the illusion, became increasingly excited.

"In this illusion, no matter how you struggle, it's all in vain."

"I am the master!"

"I am the master!!"

"I am the master!!!"

Meanwhile, the vast majority of spectators watching from the outside saw the God-Slaying White Demon's gradually contorting expression of pain, and their hearts grew heavy with anxiety.

"The White Demon's not going to lose, is he? You've got to hang in there—don't die, whatever you do!"

"White Demon, my happiness for the rest of my life depends on you. Don't you dare die at the hands of some control-type spirit master!"

...

At that same moment, within the illusion, just as countless fragments of broken swords shot toward Ignaz, his aura suddenly exploded. Thick, blood-red energy permeated his entire body.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

The chains binding Ignaz snapped one after another. He glared viciously at his surroundings, gripping the Blood Thunder War Spear and instantly unleashing both his first and second soul skills. The sword rain that struck his body immediately shattered and turned to ash.

Ignaz thrust fiercely in the same direction.

"If the illusion breaks, the caster will surely suffer backlash."

After consecutively using his second soul skill three times—a total of nine attacks—

"Bang!" Countless illusion fragments shattered into powder, the illusion disappeared, and both fighters returned to reality. The Human-Faced Phantom staggered back more than ten steps, spat out a mouthful of blood, and was drenched in sweat with terror written across her face.

"Don't kill me, don't kill me! I'll agree to anything you want!"

"No, no..."

She collapsed to her knees, both her mind and mouth repeating these pleas for mercy.

Ignaz wouldn't give her another chance to use her second spirit skill. While she was still trapped in the aftereffects of the illusion's backlash, he gripped his spear and activated his second spirit skill again. The spear tip pierced deep through her throat.

"Winner takes all, loser takes nothing. It's either you die or I die."

As the Blood Thunder War Spear was withdrawn, the terrified Human-Faced Phantom collapsed heavily to the ground.

Seeing this, all the spectators in the audience stands rose to their feet, screaming themselves hoarse as they cheered for the God-Slaying White Demon and celebrated his victory.

Having used his second spirit skill four times, Ignaz's physical strength and spirit power had seriously declined. He gasped heavily and walked down from the soul-fighting platform with a troubled expression.

The illusion cast by the Human-Faced Phantom was precisely the transformed scene of his body feeding the sword. If it hadn't been for the blood energy backlash from the Blood Thunder War Spear while his mental strength was restrained, he really would have died from a mere second spirit skill of the illusion type.

It seemed he'd have to be more careful around control-type spirit masters in the future, especially those with certain illusion-type martial souls. If he faced another duel like this, he couldn't guarantee he'd be able to successfully break through the illusion like he had just now.

After resting for two hours and recovering his spirit power, Ignaz collected his 150,000 gold spirit coins and quickly vanished into the darkness. As he left the black market and headed outside the city,

Having experienced nearly half a year of life-and-death battles, his perception of his surroundings had become extremely sharp. In less than a minute, Ignaz became aware of a group of about ten people following him, their exact purpose unknown.

Without even thinking about it, he knew this ten-person team was most likely planning to ambush and rob him, or they were spies from some faction trying to get a look at his true appearance.

Ignaz didn't have time to kill them all—that would just cause more trouble. So he immediately ran into a dense forest, using the vegetation to block the followers' line of sight.

The ten people who had struggled to follow him into the forest looked at each other.

"Boss, looks like we lost him!"

"Lost is lost. Good thing the White Demon didn't go on a killing spree, otherwise when he noticed us, we'd have been dead already. You really think the White Demon never spotted us?"

Saying this, the leader of the ten-person team flicked his sleeves and immediately left the area.

Meanwhile, Ignaz, having perfectly escaped, could finally remove his black robe and mask and put his storage ring back on.

However, just as he re-entered Vast Sea City, Dean Shui rushed toward Ignaz urgently and said, "Little Iggy, I've finally found you! I have something urgent I need your help with."

"Dean, what's got you so flustered?"

Looking at the anxious Dean Shui before him, Ignaz was completely puzzled. A Spirit King asking for help from a mere Spirit Grandmaster like himself?

"Let's walk and talk!"

Dean Shui led him toward the Waldorf Grand Hotel, then suppressed his excitement and explained,

"Little Iggy, Director Lu and I actually both come from the Shui family of Skywater City. I'm looking for you now because I need you to treat one of our family's younger members."

"You want me to treat someone?"

Ignaz had a pretty good idea of who this younger family member might be, but he wasn't a doctor—how could he possibly treat someone's illness?

*Author's Note: These past couple days of soul-fighting scenes were admittedly a bit drawn out to develop the protagonist's character, but the pace will pick up from here. Dear readers, please bear with me—please keep reading and add this to your collections!*
