chapter 15: 2 years later and the growing dungeon

And that's how Sylvia started visiting my home everyday, she would bring cookies and she even bring my favourite cookies.

2 years later....

"Hinata, i'm here" Free said, now taller and older he was 9 years old, hiding in the living room behind a chair.

"Brother wait!" Hinata said, she was now 2 years old. Her legs were wobbly though she walked to the living room slowly. She entered the living and started searching for Free.

"Hinata wait!" Elina said, now 2 year old too she entered the living room using the walls as a support.

"Brother?" she said, searching for Free in the living room. Her eyes scanned the room and then she saw him behind the chair.

"Find you!" Both said, Hinata turned to Elina to eachother.

"i found" Hinata said, turning to Elina.

"No i did " Elina said, they both gave eachother a glare. "First touch wins" Elina said, running to Free.

"cheater!" Hinata yelled, pouting.

"Okay you too stop arguing" Free said, patting both in the head. "You should never argue with each other, understand" Free said, raising a finger.

"yes" both said, they turn to eachother. Hinata open her mouth but Free gave her a stare she close her mouth instantly.

Knock. Knock. A gentle knock came from outside.

"It must be sis!" Hinata and Elina said, running to the door. But they were too short to open it.

"Open brother" Hinata said, she jump to open the door.

"Yes yes" Free said, he reach his hand to the knob and opened the door. Sylvia was standing in the dooway now 9 yeas old, her cheeks slightly pink and a basket of cookies in her hand.

"I-I brough cookies w-would you like to have them" she said, holding the basket of cookies.

"yeah i would like to" Free said, Sylvia gave him the basket of cookies. "Please come in" he said,giving a polite and thankful smile.

Hinata flashed a mischevious grin, then darted forward and snatch the basket of cookies."Mine now"" she giggled, walking to the dining room.

"me too!" Elina said, following Hinata.

Sylvia silently enters the house and she went into the living room and sat on a chair.

Free sat too a little awkward. "Thank you for the cookies you brought every day" Free said, giving a small awkward smile.

"yeah" Sylvia said, scratching her cheeks. Hinata and Elina were eating the cookies in the dining table."Hinata and Elina are quite mischevious" she said.

"Yeah they are" Free said, just then Lina enters the room with dry clothes in her hand.

"Ohh. Sylvia is here" She said, unfazed by the awkward silence between the two. "Sorry, i'll leave" she said, and goes upstairs.

"I l-learnt a new spell yesterday" Sylvia said. "Would you like to see it" she said, standing up from her place.

"yeah i would like" Free said, he stand up and both walked outside to the garden.

"Okay" sylvia said, she raised her palm. "Oo Divine gods please hear my voice and give me your will, lightning javelin!" she chanted, clouds cover the sky and slowly the house was in dark, then a lightning drop and hit the flower field Hina had planted months ago. Ahhh!" Sylvia screamed she walked to the flower filed, half of them were burned.

"Oh dear..." Free said, his face went pale he gave a faint smile trying to look normal.

"Ohh... What. Is. This?" Hina said, she was right behind Free. Free turned back hina face was dark she gave a sweet smile. "Who did this" she said, staring at both.

"Uhhh.... I didn't do anything" Free said, and Sylvia quietly sobbed still looking at the flower field she didn't dare look back. "The sky did it. Yeah, the sky drop a lightning!" Free said, hina take a step forward and Free took a step back.

"GO AND PRACTICE YOUR SPELLS OUTSIDE!!!" hina yelled, the whole neightbour hood shook.

"YES!" both said, and run to the village square.

"brother in trouble again" Hinata said taking another Cookie from the basket.

At the village square free and Sylvia were gasping for air. They were on the south side of the village.

"Let's try some harmless spells, okay" Free said, gasping for air he sat on the grass beneath the tree.

"Y-yes" sylvia said, falling flat on the grass. "I'm sorry for the flower field" Sylvia said, she look away guilty.

"no need it will grow back in just days. The soil in the village is always rich in mana so it will probably grow back in a few days" Free said, looking at the green grass.

"well it wasn't always this fertile and rich in mana" sylvia said, she got up and sat beside Free.

"What do you mean?" Free asked, his face now with confusion and curiosity.

"did you remember about the mana wave that shook the whole kindom 5 years ago. The one that throw people, even the palace mana sensors exploded and after that our village became very fertile" she said, pulling a grass out of the ground.

"i know about that but i was sleeping when it happen and mom said, Lina's mana–defying seal defend the house and saved me from getting thrown out of the bed" Free said.

"Really i heard that mages tried to chant it but they failed even 2nd prince Alberto Daelon got thrown to the wall" sylvia said, surprised and awed. "she must be quite the mage to stop something that made even neighbouring kingdoms tremble" she said, her fave filled with admiration.

"Lina isn't a mage...she used paper seal. Mom said she had lower mana pool than average adult so she used paper seal" Free said, he took a pen out from his pocket. "this is the spell pen. she gave me at my sixth birthday, it's kinda fun to write spells and used them" He said, handing the pen to Sylvia.

"But this kind of magic spell pens are expensive i heard it cost 2 gold coin to even buy a average one" she said, looking at the pen in her hand.

"Is it that expensive" Free said, looking at the pen.

"yeah it is" she said, giving him the pen back.

"I never thought it would be this expensive" he said, he tucked the pen back to his pocket realizing it's value. "i should only use it at hom-" before Free could complete his sentence a man walk to them and sat to the opposite of the tree. He had a sword in his hip, a gear and a big bag he put it down-an adventurer- the adventirer sat down and rest beneath the tree.

"Why is he resting behind us" Sylvia whispered a little scared. "is he a kidnapper, a bandit or-" she said, but she too, was interrupted.

"hey girl, i'm not a bandit i am just tired" he said, eyes half lidded . "I entered the dungeon yesterday and many monsters attacked me till morning. I left and want rlsome rest,i'm not a bandit" he said, and closed his eyes .

"the dungeon 5 miles away" Free said, looking back to the adventurer.

"yeah. I heard it grew into a S–rank last month so i thought of clearing it but man.... i barely escape" the adventurer said, stretching his hands.

"Are you hurt?" sylvia asked, the man sat and nodded. He lift his sleeve and a covered wound in cloth on his hand was still bleeding.

"A goblin bit it, quite the trouble it gave" he said, and covered it back and lay on the grass.

"You're hand is still bleeding!" Sylvia said, standing up.

" doesn't hurt that much" he said, spitting on the ground.

Free stand up and walk up to the adventurer. "can i try my healing magic in it" He asked, politely.

"Uh...sure" the man said, raising his hand. "What can you do anyway" he said.

Free extended his hand and his palm glowed green then suddenly the wound healed the man quickly got up and check the wound , it was gone he stand up and stretch his body it was full of energy again.

"hey kid, what was that?, You did a chantless spell and healed me in in seconds" he said, looking at both of them.

"i use magic daily since i was 6 so i master it before even realizing it" Free lied, scratching the back to his neck.

"But still this level of healing is no joke it can almost rival light magic" he said, sitting down.

"Light magic?" Free said, confused.

"yeah. light magic. It heals wound instantly even severe one" he said.

"can i use it too!" Free ask, his eye sparkled.

"No you can't, light magic is only Taught to priest and nun. Normal worpshipers of goddess celestine don't get the right to use light and holy magic" he said, and he took out a silver coin and handed it to Free. "this is your reward for the healing" the adventurer said, he stands up and left.

"Hey....i don't need this!" Free shouted.

"Keep it" the man said, he waved his hand as he left.

"Free let's go back for now" Sylvia said, grabbing his hand her cheeks turn slightly pink.

"Yeah.." Free said and he turn and walk back to his home. Light and holy magic will i ever get the chance to use it, he thought as he walk away.

Dungeons were growing, Free knowledge on magic was expanding but the he didn't know the reason of the village mana rich and fertile soil was because of him.
