Lana was getting tired of the way Kairos barged into her room, what if she was naked or something but that didn't matter now
"Good morning your majesty, I'm sorry I couldn't attend to you on time" she said trying to turn to him
His frown deepened " don't move"
Lana paused going back to her lying position
All kairos could see was red, her bed stained with her blood and tears, the audacity for the person to touch what was his
"Now answer me, who touched you" he asked again his voice deep with anger every word coming out like a storm about to be unleashed
Lana didn't want more trouble, the last thing she wanted is anyone coming for her because she caused harm on a noble
"You don't have to worry about me your majesty I'll be fine" she said
Kairos walked towards her ripping the back of her maid outfit startling Lana
"What are you.." Lana said trying to turn
"Stay put" he said holding her down by her waist firmly but gently, his eyes scanned through her back
Her fair skin was discolored, swollen and bleeding, if she didn't tell him who did it, he was going to find out by himself. Hovering his hand slightly above her back, a warm yellow glow emitted from his hand
Feeling the warmth on her back she wondered what he was doing at her back but she couldn't move cause of how she was held in place with just one of his hand, soon the pain in her back slowly relieved and then the warm feeling faded
"I am not going to heal you completely cause you have chosen to take the side of the person who hurt you" Kairos said letting go of her back
Lana slowly turned, sitting up on the bed "thank you your majesty"
seeing the swell on her face, something snapped in Kairos , his face darkened. Gripping her chin he raised her face up scanning through all the bruises
"Lana I command you to tell me who touched you"
Lana looked away a tear rolling down her eyes, she didn't want to, not another person dying because of her
"Are you disobeying my order" Kairos whispered his voice slow yet impatient, his grip on her chin tightened making her flinch
"You're hurting me" Lana whispered more tears streaming down her cheeks
Letting go of her chin, Kairos stood up "it seems like you don't trust me" he said his anger turning to disappointment
"Stay in bed until you recover, I will find out who touched you myself" he said leaving the room
Lana sat silently on the bed, she couldn't control her tears, she wanted those who hurt her to suffer but not at the cost of hurting herself again, her life in the city was never easy but it was peaceful
Though she had to beg to get by, she was never beaten or bruised or kidnapped. She couldn't stay by his side longer, her resolve to leave no matter the cost grew stronger.
Kairos walked through the halls to his throne room, he was angry and he had never been this bothered about someone else ever since his mom died. He didn't know why he felt this way but all he knew is he needed blood to spill and he was going to get it
Sitting on his throne "Alan" he called
Soon a figure in a black cloak appeared in front of him kneeling
"Find out who touched her" he commanded
Bowing the figure vanished
He didn't know why Lana refused to tell him, why was she hiding it, was there something else she wasn't telling him, he was starting to trust her but now he didn't know what to think
The figure came back, giving him a name
The frown on Kairos face turned to an evil smile "I've been waiting for an opportunity to get rid of that family" he muttered
Lana laid in her bed, face covered with bandages, Kairos had called the royal physician to attend to her, the pain in her face was relieved a little
Staring into the cup of tea she was nursing, she didn't know if she should feel grateful for his care or dread being by his side, if only he wasn't a blood thirsty tyrant maybe she would feel safer by his side
Looking towards the door, it's been 2 days he hadn't come see her once, she wanted to thank him for the treatment, atleast that was the least she could do.
Gazing down at the necklace on her hand, she planned to give this back to him the next time he came to her, she didn't know how long he planned to keep her as his personal maid.
Looking towards the window to the open sky, she couldn't remember the last time she went outside, ever since she got here she been locked in dark places
No matter how close the light seemed, it felt like she couldn't touch it
Heaving a frustrated sigh, she dropped the cup of tea on the side table, laying down properly, she was going to wait until the right opportunity
Hearing the door open, her heart skipped there was only one person who would enter her room without knocking
"Prepare Lana, you're going to escort me as my personal maid" Kairos said leaving the room
Lana laid there wide eyed "I'm sick and injured can't I have a break" she cried out, deep down she was excited to finally see the sun
