Chapter 1

Alpha Dylan and I were childhood sweethearts.

I bore him a pup without a bonding ceremony.

A year later, he’s planning to bond with my adopted Omega sister.

“She’s in love with me. You need to let her have this.”

“You’ll still be Luna. This is just…a ceremony.”

In the bridal boutique, they kissed in front of me, then demanded I give her my carefully selected gown.

Dylan yanked my dress: "Don't embarrass the pack. Take it off for her."

Just then, a deep, unfamiliar voice sounded behind me:

"I'd like to see who dares touch my mate."

A pack servant came to tell me Dylan had arrived.

After Dylan's Alpha father passed away, he became the new Alpha of the Silvermoon Pack.

Over the past year, he relentlessly expanded the pack's businesses, turning the Silvermoon Pack into Seattle's most powerful commercial wolf pack.

This made my parents even more eager to arrange a bonding between us.

I had just lulled Emma to sleep. When he saw she was asleep, he lightened his steps.

"Is she asleep? Don't hold her, let me."

"Your back has been weak ever since you carried her. You should hold her less."

I didn't say anything.

My mind drifted to yesterday, when he had clearly promised to take Elisabeth to the Space Needle at Seattle Center today.

Elisabeth had stood with her hands on her hips, imperiously demanding he also take her to Pike Place Market, Gas Works Park, and even skiing on Mount Rainier.

I've never been fond of such bustling places, and I rarely attend gatherings with friends.

Once, Dylan had casually mentioned, "Fionna, you're honestly quite boring."

I didn't pay it much mind back then, but it turns out he's found me boring for a long time.

I asked him, "Didn't you go with Elisabeth?"

His eyes flickered for a moment, and he said to me with a soft, gentle smile, "Getting sulky with me now? "

Quickly, he wiped the smile from his face. After gently placing Emma down, he took my hand and said, "I did come over because there's something I need to tell you."

He let out a soft sigh. "Elisabeth has feelings for me, and I can't bring myself to reject her. After all, you can't force matters of the heart."

"But you're her older sister. I think you should let her have her way."

"Fionna, Elisabeth is still young, she's just playing around. I'm only humoring her. Once she's had her fun, I swear I'll make you my Luna. The position of Luna is, and always will be, yours."

As I listened to him finish, all the disappointment in my heart instantly curdled into despair.

I snatched my hand back. "Then tell me, Dylan, how many more years are you going to make me wait?"

"Do you have any idea what the other wolves are saying about me? Or what they're saying about Emma?"

I had a pup without a bonding ceremony, becoming the talk of the pack. Then I waited another year for him, thinking he would keep his promise, only to be told to 'wait a little longer.'

His expression grew cold. "My woman and my pup. I'd like to see who dares to run their mouth. I'll rip their jaws from their skulls."

Seeing that I wasn't speaking, he softened his tone and said again, "Fionna, even though we haven't had our ceremony yet, in my heart, you're already my Luna, and Emma is my only pup."

"Elisabeth just wants to have a bonding ceremony with me. You've been so unhappy and against it, don't you think you're being a little petty?"

"She's your sister. Why do you have to be like this with her?"

As he finished, his tone hardened. "Elisabeth is graduating soon. Having a bonding ceremony with her is the graduation gift I promised her, and I have to keep my word."

He wasn't asking me; he was telling me.

Once he's made up his mind, my unhappiness won't change a thing.

I kept my eyes on Emma on the bed, not responding to him. By the time I snapped out of it, Dylan was already gone.

I instructed the nanny, "Take good care of Emma. I have to go out for a bit."

The Elder, who had long resided in the pack's sacred grounds, was surprised to see me. "Our Fionna, what brings you here?"

I had considered it for a long time. "Elder, I am willing to accept the pairing."

"I don't mind that your old war buddy's grandson can't use his legs, as long as he doesn't mind that I have Emma."
