I watched in the direction Dylan was being led away, my heart a tangle of complicated emotions.
I once thought Dylan was my fated mate. We grew up together, but I never imagined he would betray me with Elisabeth.
Shaking off the complicated feelings, I turned to Gabriel. "Let's go."
He hummed softly in agreement, and the car started moving again.
The motorcade continued toward the Moonshade Pack's territory.
Along the way, I felt a flutter of nerves. Suddenly, my hand was enveloped by a much larger one.
Gabriel had taken my hand. "Nervous?"
I nodded. "A little. How could I not be? It's my first bonding ceremony. And later, I'll have to face so many of your pack members that I've never met."
He chuckled softly. "Don't worry, I'm here."
He gave my hand a gentle squeeze and rested it on his leg. "You won't have to be nervous in the future, either. I'll always be with you."
