I nodded and led Gabriel into the fitting room.
Dylan's roars echoed from behind us. "Elisabeth! Elisabeth, don't be scared, I'm taking you to the clinic right now!"
"Fionna! You just wait! I'll make you pay for this!"
Inside the fitting room, Gabriel looked at me, the corner of his mouth curving into an enigmatic smile. "Don't you have anything to say to me?"
My heart tightened. I had no idea what he meant.
I didn't know him well enough to read his moods.
I asked tentatively, "Hmm? What is it?"
He chuckled softly. "For example… that you truly want to marry me."
I froze for a moment before I understood, then I turned the question back on him. "That's what I wanted to ask you."
"Gabriel, do you truly want to marry me?"
He looked at me, puzzled.
I explained, "I have a pup, after all."
The tension in his expression eased. "I thought you were going to say something else."
"I've already told my pack's elder my stance, and I assume your elder has told you as well."
