Kyōraku Callum was exceedingly polite.
Urahara Kisuke waved him off, producing a small white folding fan from seemingly nowhere and fanning himself.
"Not at all, not at all," he said. "It's getting late. Shall I see you back? The Kuchiki estate is far more suitable for Hisana's recuperation than the human world."
This was a clear dismissal. Kyōraku Callum wasn't one to overstay his welcome; the human world held little appeal for him beyond Urahara Kisuke and his fellow fugitives.
Bidding farewell to Urahara Kisuke, Kyōraku Callum, with Kuchiki Hisana, opened the Senkaimon and returned to Soul Society.
They reappeared in the Kuchiki estate—a privilege exclusive to nobles.
Using the Senkaimon without permission was a breach of family rules, but as Kyōraku Callum had said, such things are either never done or done countless times.
Kuchiki Byakuya, having broken the rules once for Kuchiki Hisana, had already committed to the latter.
As Kyōraku Callum emerged, he found Kuchiki Byakuya anxiously awaiting at the entrance.
"Don't worry," Kyōraku Callum said with a smile. "Hisana's condition has completely stabilized. While still somewhat weak, her life is no longer in danger."
Kuchiki Byakuya visibly relaxed.
"Thank you, Kyōraku," he said.
Kuchiki Byakuya didn't inquire about the treatment process or the healer's identity. While he harbored suspicions, he chose not to voice them.
Kyōraku Callum had performed a great service, and Kuchiki Byakuya intended to repay him fully, given the opportunity.
With Kuchiki Hisana's situation resolved, it was time to move on. Kyōraku Callum returned to Shinigami Academy and submitted his early graduation application.
The academy's higher-ups weren't surprised and processed his paperwork with remarkable speed. Upon receiving his certification, he officially transitioned from student to full-fledged Shinigami!
[Check-in complete. Reward distribution in progress.]
[Congratulations, host! You have received Akatsuki's first Shikai ability: Spatial Stasis!]
The moment Kyōraku Callum heard the system notification, his dark pupils constricted.
"Spatial Stasis?!" he exclaimed. "Isn't Akatsuki a time-based Zanpakutō?"
His question was quickly answered by the system.
[The first Shikai ability is separate from time manipulation. Please cherish this additional ability.]
Kyōraku Callum readily accepted this. The name alone suggested the ability's nature. Abilities affecting spatial manipulation were exceptionally powerful.
Kyōraku Callum drew his Zanpakutō, attempting to utilize this new ability. He now had excellent control over the time-stop range of his Shikai.
"Time stop, Akatsuki!"
He maintained a time stop within his dorm room, then quickly released it. Kyōraku Callum then tried Spatial Stasis for the first time.
Pointing his Zanpakutō forward, he unleashed a surge of spiritual pressure that enveloped his dorm room.
Instantly, within a ten-meter radius centered on Kyōraku Callum, space itself was completely frozen!
Unlike time stop, spatial stasis consumed less spiritual pressure, its duration dependent on remaining spiritual pressure.
However, its power was correspondingly less than time stop. Those within the stasis could break free by releasing their own spiritual pressure, provided it exceeded Kyōraku Callum's.
The stasis was like trapping an opponent in amber, leaving only their cognitive abilities intact.
Releasing the spatial stasis, Kyōraku Callum sheathed Akatsuki. He was extremely pleased with this new ability.
Knock, knock!
A knock sounded on his door.
"Come in, Rukia!" Kyōraku Callum called without turning, having already sensed her spiritual pressure.
The door opened, and a head of black hair peeked in, glancing around cautiously.
"Looks like you're alone," Rukia said, entering stealthily.
Kyōraku Callum looked at her quizzically.
"What are you doing? Up to something sneaky again?"
Rukia's eyes widened, her deep purple gaze flashing with indignation.
"When have I ever done anything sneaky?" she retorted. "Why did you use 'again'?" She looked ready to pounce.
