The chaos that followed the revelation of Kamar-Taj was far from the simplicity some had imagined.

Isaac Leclerc strolled through one of New York's busiest streets, watching the crowd gather around a ridiculous scene. He shook his head, a mocking smile tugging at his lips.

A bald man in a yellow robe stood in the center, surrounded by onlookers, performing one "magical" trick after another.

After the show, the man launched into a dramatic speech, announcing that he was willing to teach the secrets of magic to anyone—so long as they paid enough money.

In the United States, the long-standing policy of deliberate ignorance—what some might call "happy education"—had always made deceiving the lower classes remarkably easy.

Now, with the existence of magic revealed to the public, this kind of scam was spreading like wildfire around the world.

All it took to get started was learning a few cheap tricks, shaving your head, and buying a yellow robe. The startup cost was almost nonexistent.

That's why Isaac had encountered so many of these con artists while doing a bit of shopping.

Despite how crude the scam was, some naïve rich folks and commoners were still falling for it.

While sitting in a café for a short break, Isaac pulled out his phone and checked the latest news online.

There were countless posts discussing trending topics about magic, and even groups claiming to be recruiting the "gifted." Shockingly, some people actually believed it.

Blowing gently on his coffee, Isaac chuckled and said:

"This world gets more ridiculous by the day..."

Just then, a breeze swept through the street, and a woman suddenly appeared across from him. She had short hair and a strong, heroic face.

Faora looked at him with admiration and said:

"These people are such fools. What they really need is a better ruler... someone like you, sir!"

Faora was a Kryptonian from the Man of Steel universe, summoned into this world during Isaac's twentieth year here.

In terms of raw strength, Faora was now arguably stronger than Thor and pre-empowered Captain Marvel, after absorbing Earth's yellow sunlight for nearly ten years.

But not all Kryptonians could grow without limit like Superman. At the end of the day, their bodies were bound by the laws of life—a limit to their evolution.

Isaac gave her a mildly reproachful look and said:

"Faora, you're still using that formal tone? I've told you a hundred times... just call me by name. You're my partner, no need for all the respect."

He sighed slightly, then continued:

"What do you think about the sudden appearance of the Marvel List?"

Faora answered seriously:

"It's a fascinating development. Sure, the Marvel List might expose us sooner than planned, but it'll also bring other forces into the light. As long as we're good at gathering intel, we'll soon uncover the depth of this world."

Faora, originally trained as an officer, always took serious matters with full gravity.

Then she added with sarcasm:

"I assume you haven't made any big moves yet because of that magical organization? I saw their footage on the Marvel List... Honestly, aside from the bald one, they're not even worth mentioning."

Isaac nodded, his tone grounded:

"True. Aside from the Ancient One, Kamar-Taj's overall power is rather unimpressive."

He frowned slightly and added:

"Right now, our strength touches the ceiling of the physical world... but when it comes to the spiritual realm, we're sorely lacking."

He hated hybrid worlds—especially Marvel's.

It was easy to imagine the absurd complexity of a universe where technology coexisted with magic, where superpowers met aliens and gods.

Even Faora looked slightly disheartened. She still hadn't fully grasped how to use magic—her genetic makeup was built for combat, not research.

Suddenly, she seemed to remember why she came, and said:

"By the way, there's something I need to report. Last night, there was a small skirmish at the shelter you asked me to monitor. A mage named Kaecilius defected."

"Kaecilius?" Isaac repeated, raising an eyebrow with interest.

"If memory serves... that betrayal wasn't supposed to happen yet."

Could this be tied to the early appearance of the Marvel List?

He fell silent, deep in thought, then asked:

"Where is he now? The Celestial Dome still lacks magical talent."

Faora replied, "He's still under surveillance. Would you like me to take you to him?"

Isaac gave a simple nod.

And in the blink of an eye, the two vanished from the street.

Thanks to Kryptonian speed, they arrived at a distant cabin in an instant.

Faora stood in front of the cabin and said respectfully:

"He's inside."

But Isaac simply smiled and shook his head.

"No need. He just came out."

Indeed, Kaecilius had heard the commotion outside the house and stepped out cautiously, thinking Kamar-Taj's agents had come for him. He was prepared to fight.

But when he saw the handsome man and the striking woman standing before him, he hesitated.

Kaecilius, who was well-versed in the inner workings of Kamar-Taj, knew immediately that these two weren't part of them. The sheer physical presence they radiated... no sorcerer could possibly possess that kind of power.
