10:30 AM -
Yoshida Kaito lives in a luxurious mansion, artworks from around the world showcased in his bedroom. The morning felt different—something off about it, a silence covering the whole mansion. As he slept in his bed, Kaito dreamed of something, smiling in his sleep. Out of nowhere, Kaito's whole body jerked, and he woke up. He was panting and sweating. His eyes started burning suddenly, and he called for his servant—
"Anybody there? Bring me a glass of water!"
He shouted, but there was no response.
After several minutes of calling, Kaito got out of bed in a bad mood due to the lack of response. He opened the door and exited his room, seeing no one—usually, a servant always waited in front of the door. Kaito started walking down the hallway, yelling and shouting—
"Where the hell are you fools?"
He made his way to the dining room and saw it completely empty.
A glass and a bottle of wine were already placed on the table. He called out again and again, but no one answered. Suddenly, Kaito's eyes began burning, and he rubbed them constantly. After a few minutes, his eyes returned to normal, but as soon as he looked ahead, he saw the air glitching out of nowhere. He thought he was dreaming—he slapped his face, but it wasn't a dream. He started panicking and took a few steps back. The glitching stabilized, and suddenly, a blue screen popped up. Seeing it in front of him, Kaito tried to walk away, but wherever he looked, the system followed him like a shadow—no, it wasn't a shadow; it was linked to his vision. There was no escaping it.
Kaito became frustrated and started throwing objects at the system, but nothing happened. Every object passed through it—a shadow of sinners that could not be eliminated.
After a few minutes, Kaito calmed himself and reached for the system. As he got closer and tried to touch it, the system activated, and Kaito stepped back.

Kaito couldn't believe what he was seeing. Fear gripped him—he was sweating rapidly, his feet frozen. In his mind, he repeated—
"It's not real. It's not real."
Kaito started running, but it was no use—the system followed his vision wherever he went. He called his assistant, but no one answered. He dialed several numbers, but none responded.
After completely breaking down, Kaito returned to his bedroom, sitting in a corner and staring at the system before him. He took a closer look, his eyes filled with curiosity. In a moment, the fear faded from his face, and he stood up. Slowly, he took a few steps and reached for the system.
Kaito stretched out his hands and demanded—
"What the heck are you? What is all this?"

Frustrated and angry, Kaito screamed at the system—
"Answer my goddamn question! What are you?"

After displaying unreadable code, the system switched back to English.
The moment grew intense—Kaito was sweating profusely, his hands frozen, his legs refusing to move. The system screen turned red.

The countdown began, and Kaito was terrified of what would happen next. He kept trying to grab the system, but it was only a reflection—a shadow of death.

Kaito was traumatized, his mind racing—
"Should I choose death? Is this a test of courage? No... no, it's not a test. This thing is beyond my understanding. And what the hell is 'Earn or Rot'?"
His thoughts spiraled, but none helped.

Confused and desperate, Kaito couldn't decide. Time was running out. At the last moment, his heart pounded—just the thought of selecting death made him wet himself in fear.

Kaito screamed and slammed the "Earn or Rot" option at the final second. His eyes reddened with tears, his face twisted in fear. Unsure of what awaited, he felt a flicker of hope—had he survived?

With that, the system vanished—no trace, no glitches.
Kaito, still confused and scared, didn't know what to do. None of his servants or workers answered. He rushed to the main door, desperate to escape and call the police, but it was locked. He couldn't open it.
Kaito screamed—
"Whoever is doing this, I'll kill you! I'll kill you all!"
Suddenly, a loud sound echoed from the end of the hallway. Kaito's whole body froze. Slowly, he turned his head and saw a woman standing there. His face lit up with a smile, and he ran toward her—but halfway there, he saw her clearly.
A middle-aged woman, her clothes stained with blood. She began moving toward him. Kaito stepped back, shouting—
"Who are you? Don't come closer! How did you get inside?"
The woman stopped and pointed at him—no words, no eye contact, just her finger aimed at him. Kaito slowly realized someone was behind him. He turned and saw a crowd standing in the hallway—thirty to forty people, all pointing at him.
He couldn't believe it. He fell to the ground, crawling frantically.
Every single one of them had been killed by Kaito.
Some, to erase evidence of his corruption. Others, for money. Among them, an innocent family murdered because they refused to give him their land. The middle-aged woman—slaughtered in front of her family for refusing to pay him.
As Kaito stared at them, his past flashed before his eyes. His sin was greed—a greed that led him to slaughter without mercy.
Then, he remembered the system's words—
"Earn forgiveness before midnight."
Kaito dropped to his knees and begged—
"Please, forgive me! I'll give you money—everything! New houses, new lives! I promise, just forgive me!"
The crowd stood in silence, then looked at the middle-aged woman. She stared at Kaito and said—
"Oh, how generous you are. You will?"
A wave of relief washed over Kaito. His eyes brightened, his body calmed. He nodded eagerly—
"Yes! I'll give you millions!"
The woman smiled and replied—
"So you still think money can save you? Look at us—we're dead. We don't need money. We just want you to join us."
Kaito kept offering wealth, but they refused. The crowd closed in, chanting—
"Join us! Join us!"
Kaito ran through the mansion—the kitchen, his office, his bedroom, the wine cellar—but they were everywhere.
11:50 PM -
The whole day passed. Kaito had begged, bargained, but no one accepted his pleas. All they wanted was for him to join them.
12:00 AM, Midnight -
As the clock struck twelve, Kaito's heart raced. He crawled in terror, screaming for help, for forgiveness—but nothing stopped the torment.
At 12:01 AM, the system reappeared.

The next day, the servants returned to chaos. They found his corpse—just yesterday, he had been fine. The police investigated and confirmed Yoshida Kaito's death occurred between 12-3 AM on June 28.
But according to the system, he died on June 29.
He had been trapped in a time loop—a different dimension where he paid for his sins.
