Embracing Digital Transformation

With the political storm weathered, Immaculate and Tamaraumiebi turned their attention to innovation and expansion/upgrading. They recognized the increasing importance of digital literacy in a rapidly evolving world and saw an opportunity to further empower their community with digital technics.

"Many of our younger participants are already tech-savvy," Immaculate pointed out, "but there's a significant gap for older residents and those without access to digital resources especially the less privilege ones."

Tamaraumiebi agreed with her and said. "We could offer workshops on basic computer skills and technological ideas, internet safety, and even how to use online tools for small or big businesses. Imagine the possibilities for expanding reach and opportunities."

They decided to launch a new initiative: "Digital Bridges." They sought donations of refurbished computers and partnered with local tech companies for volunteer instructors. The initial workshops were met with enthusiasm, especially from elders who were eager to connect with friends and family members living abroad through video calls or learn how to access online government services and also learn how to participate in social media activities. The center transformed into a hub of digital learning and technological ideas, bridging the generational gap and opening new avenues for communication and economic participation.
