Sienna felt the system make sense, so she stood up from the bed, carrying the cat and stroking it's smooth fur.
But before she reached the door, she gave a curious glance at her reflection in the vanity mirror.
She stared for a while, then nodded.
Well, her appearance was passable.
She had long red hair that fell to her waist, and her eyes were one of the things that made her stand out.
The original owner had heterochromia, and one eye was amber — golden like the sun, and the other was emerald green.
Her cat coincidentally shared the same features as her, with identical eye colors. That was the reason Sienna had brought the cat home in the first place.
Walking out the door, she looked around the house.
She was on the second floor, and it had at least eight bedrooms. If she remembered correctly, all of them were occupied by her sisters from different mothers.
Sienna found the kitchen, surprisingly spotless for a house this large and filled with so many girls.
She placed the cat gently on the marble counter, petting its fur softly. "Wait a sec, will you?"
With that, she opened a cabinet.
Her eyes scanned through the content inside, and with the system's help, she grabbed a can of tuna and popped it open with ease. The cat meowed, voice loud and demanding.
"Alright, alright," she said, plating the food onto a clean ceramic saucer. The cat didn't wait. It dove in like it hadn't eaten in days, tail swishing side to side in satisfaction.
At the same time, Sienna finally had the chance to check her phone.
The first thing she did, of course, was check her account balance.
The original Sienna was the daughter of a wealthy businessman, so she should also be rich.
But when she logged into the account, the five figure amount glaring back at her was painfully disappointing.
She frowned. "Only a few thousands? Shouldn't she have more than this?"
After all, her father's company was worth quite a lot.
But no matter how long she stared, the balance stayed the same.
She bit her lip, her expression thoughtful. "Where do I find money now? I need it urgently…"
"Should I call that father of mine?" she pondered, but then belatedly remembered– the novel started around the time that man died, and his shares were being—
"Wait…!" Sienna's eyes lit up, her hand trembling with excitement as she held the phone.
The cat raised its head from the bowl, looking a bit confused but quickly dug back in.
Even the system couldn't help but ask, "Host? Are you good?"
A wide smile spread across Sienna's face.
Now she remembered vividly– the first chapter. The female lead was just one of the many daughters her millionaire father had. He wanted male children so badly, but no matter how many women he slept with, they always bore him a girl.
After his burial, the lawyers presented his will, and his shares were divided among his eight children.
Sienna was mentioned at the start due to her getting the highest number of shares among sisters —about 7% — while the rest got only one or two percent. It was quite expected since she was Alan's — her father's favorite daughter.
The male lead, Ashton Song, who was also her adoptive brother — the heir Alan had raised because none of his many women gave him a son — had once tried to get her shares so he could become Chairman. There was another strong contender for the position who had almost the same percentage as him.
Thinking about it, Alan really made several backup plans for his daughter.
He even intended to engage her to Ashton so she could live the rest of her life in wealth and freedom. But that was supposed to happen after Sienna turned 21.
Unfortunately, death took him before that.
And he'd probably wake up from his grave out if he found out that the male lead actually fell for a different daughter, one he didn't favor at all.
Ashton had later sought out Sienna and asked her to sell him her shares, but the Sienna of that time had only agreed on one condition: that he marry her.
That particular scene made readers' disgust for her increase tremendously.
And they painted Ashton as the No. 1 Best Boyfriend in the world. For despite how desperately he needed the shares, he still didn't cave to a "hateful" woman like Sienna, and instead chose the female lead.
Meanwhile, Sienna's hatred for the female lead had only grown. She believed that girl stole her man, her childhood sweetheart, someone she almost dated in high school.
If she sold those shares now…
Sienna's expression brightened. Without another word, she scrolled through her contact list.
Finally, she found the lawyer's contact.
Another win for her sharp memory.
In the novel, this lawyer was the one who helped Sienna sell her shares when the apocalypse started.
Thinking about it now, Sienna gritted her teeth, a flash of anger in her eyes.
Three days after the apocalypse began, the male lead awakened, and no zombie could touch him.
The female lead clung to him, and Sienna had followed too.
But to follow him, she had to give up her shares. Everyone thought what was happening was just temporary, including the male lead. They all thought the government would fix it. No one imagined the apocalypse would last for decades.
Even though money and business became meaningless during the end of the world, it was still absolutely shameless for the male lead to ask for shares worth around seven million dollars just to protect her, when in the end, she was made to serve the female lead as a maid then get thrown into the zombies like some pawn.
As the new Sienna… she would never be at anyone's mercy.
And so, she called the lawyer.
The call rang for two seconds before the man's deep voice came through.
