Once Sienna returned to her room, she searched for Ashton's contact.
However, no matter the keywords... she couldn't find his contact.
"What's going on?" Confusion flashed in her eyes.
Ashton...
Brother Ashton...
Ash
Ton
Suddenly, she thought of something and typed 'Babe' instead. And just like that, a contact was shown.
Sienna massaged her brow, her finger pausing on that contact.
The original Sienna was obsessed with Ashton, and he likely was the only one she would address that way, so without thinking longer, she hit call.
It rang for the first time.
No answer.
She waited for a few seconds and was ready to call again when his call came in.
"Sienna?"
Well, she guessed right.
Ashton had the typical scumbag–warm voice. But he was just a hypocritical bastard.
He promised the original Sienna marriage when she was fifteen and he was nineteen, then told her to become an adult first so they could date.
And when she turned adult, he went to her sister instead.
Sienna went straight to the point. "Still interested in —"
She hadn't even finished when he cut her off, a hint of anger in his voice. "I told you, I don't want you. I'm not interested in you even a little. Let what happened in the past stay in the past. We were all kids once, and now we're adults. So just forget my childish talks. I'm getting engaged to Shayla soon, and honestly, just stop pestering me."
"You know—"
He cut her off once again. "I know, I know. I know how much you love me, but I think I already made it clear I have no interest in you anymore at this point. I treat you like a little sister. Stop being like this, Sienna! Or else I'm going to block you!"
Sienna couldn't hold it in anymore. "Mr. Ashton, are you done?"
The man's hurried breathing came from the other side, but his voice came later, tinged with confusion. "What?"
"Oh, you're done now. Even though I've long stopped caring about trash like you who thinks he's a prize, I would still like to remind you when you made those promises. I was fifteen... And you? You were an adult. You kissed a fifteen-year-old on the forehead and told her you'd love her for eternity. Shall we call the cops so they could lock you in for an eternity?
Also, I'm not sure if you knew, but in case you don't, I'm now telling you that you're just an undesirable toad lusting after a swan. And it's my pleasure to get rid of you. So keep your dirty-ass mouth shut while I say what I wanted to say. Understood?"
If her coworker were here, they'd probably have their jaw dropped from shock. After all, Sienna was the kind of person that didn't like talking too much, except when necessary.
And actually, right now, she didn't even wish to.
But she had no choice.
Most people would only want to buy her shares at the market price or at most 10% above it, and even though she disliked the male lead, he was the only one that she could make pay twice the original price.
Ashton, on the other hand, blankly stared at the display on the screen of his phone.
Sienna.
It was the same person.
When did she become so eloquent in cursing?
Also, how come she was speaking to him like that? As if she truly was disgusted with him?
Something uncomfortable stirred in his heart, and he held his chest with furrowed brows. At the same time, he calmed down a bit.
He was too harsh just now.
But he had no choice.
She was too annoying, and honestly, he didn't even know idea why he hadn't blocked her number till now.
Sienna's voice sounded again. "Are you still interested in buying my shares?"
His eyes widened, and he almost sprang up from shock.
"Can you repeat what you said?" Did he hear her right?
Sienna's voice was calm. "That you're a piece of shit?"
"...."
"No... I meant... You're selling your shares? Did I hear you right?"
"Unless your ears stopped working."
He thought for a moment and hesitated. "Even if you sell them to me, I still wouldn't marry you."
"Thank you."
"...Fine. How many are you selling?"
"Everything."
"Everything?"
"Yeah."
The man went silent again, and even longer this time around. Sienna had to check her phone screen just to be sure he hadn't disconnected.
"Not buying?" she asked, voice filled with impatience.
He suddenly asked, "Why are you selling them?"
Sienna closed her eyes and drew in a deep breath, her hand clenched around the phone.
Sighs... She really had no choice, does she?
Double the price comes with effort indeed.
"I don't think you should concern yourself about the reason. All you need is to let me know if you're buying or not."
"Fine, fine, I'm buying."
"Good. I'm selling for double their current market value..."
"Wait, what?!"
"You heard me right."
"Do—double?"
"What? Can't afford it?"
Ashton's chuckle came over. "Are you trying to scam me now?"
"I believed you would make a choice, which is a simple yes or no. Honestly, Mr. Edwards would make a good Chairman, wouldn't he?"
Mr. Edwards was Ashton's only current competitor, and in terms of status and power, he was no less than him.
In fact, he was one of the most powerful when Alan was alive.
After Alan's death, the two most powerful positions he had occupied were left empty: the Chairman and the CEO positions, and the Board of Directors decided to vote the two into one each.
But both of them wanted the Chairman position. In the end, a condition was proposed, which simply is... the first person to own 15% shares among the two would take that position.
Ashton had 5%, while Edwards had 7%.
If he had married Sienna, he would have gotten her shares, and it would be super easy to get the remaining three.
Sienna was quite glad she wasn't engaged to such a person.
After hearing Edwards being mentioned, Ashton didn't hesitate. "Fine, I will contact your lawyer!"
A smile appeared on Sienna's lips.
Goal achieved.
She could already imagine herself with a whopping fourteen million dollars by tomorrow.
"I will forward you the location. Meet me there tomorrow with your lawyers."
And before he could even say a word, she hung up.
