Before Shiro could even read a word that stood on the magical screen, he was brought back to reality by Deya's words;
"Shiro! Come back to me already! Your making me worried, you keep spacing out too much to where im starting to think your lying about being fine.."
Shiro looked at Deya as panic begins to rise within him. "H-hey! Dont say that, im not lying to you or anything! Im.. im.." He kept repeating that one word as he thought of what to tell her.
"Just.. stop it Shiro.." Deya said, silencing Shiro immidietly. "Lying to me wont get you anywhere.." She said as she crossed her arms. "And here i thought you were being real with me.."
Shiro stood up, his hand stretched out to grab her hand but he hesitates, he's scared of overstepping his boundries. "I am being real with you Deya.." Even though he couldnt look her in the eyes while saying those words.
"If you truly were being real with me then you'd have the guts to look at me face to face.." The brunette sighed and turned around, her back now facing Shiro. "Just go waste your time with Masami.. i dont care.."
Shiro looked back to where Deya originally was standing but saw that she was walking out of the classroom. "W-wait! Deya, its –" And it was too late, before he could finish his sentance, Deya left.
Shiro cursed as his gaze fell to the floor. "Why cant i just be honest with her.. ive known her since i was a kid so why!" He fell back into his seat, now being the only one left in the classroom.
"But even if i told her this.. i doubt she'd actually believe me.."
Shiro couldnt stand being alone in the classroom with his thoughts so the boy took his backpack and left the classroom.
A few hours later – in Shiro's room :
The messy haired boy was laying in his bed, tired from doing the chores around the house.
"Finally, i can get some rest.. i think i might just head to bed immidietly.."
Even as the boy tried to sleep, memories of his altercation with Deya are still fresh in his head, haunting him.
"I dont think I'll be able to sleep when i feel so guilty.. why cant i ever tell the truth..?" Shiro sat up on the bed and sighed. "Why cant i go back to the simpler times.. when it was just us playing and fooling around as kids."
As Shiro fell deeper into thought he didnt notice the floating blue screen infront of him until his mother knocked on his bedroom door.
Shiro looked up and just then noticed the blue screen, "Its back!", before he could even read it, his mother entered the room.
"Shiro, Masami is at the front door for you, you should go get it." The boy's mother said.
"Ah.. uh.. just let her in, i have something to do right now and i dont wanna waste her time.." Shiro said, making up a flimsy excuse to get his mother to leave his room.
Shiro's mother nodded and left his room, leaving Shiro with himself and the screen.
"Now lets see what this is all about.." The boy said as he began to read.
THE SYSTEM.
Welcome, {{user}} = {{Shiro}}, to the system where you can grow as strong as you possibly can as per your wish.
The System has a very simple set up and is easy to use. The UI is that of a game with various mechanics of an RPG. If {{Shiro}} doesnt know how to use a mechanic then summon the Help UI for further explanations.
There are various ways you can grow strong using The System, but that will be shown soon in the main UI – to summon any UI, just think of it.
Before Shiro could summon the main UI, his bedroom door opened once more – but it wasnt his mother – it was Masami.
"Hey there ya dork! Whatcha doing thats so important you didnt come open the door for me?" The tomboyish girl said as she closed the door behind her.
Shiro jumped in surprise at Masami's voice and looked at her. "Argh! Masami! What did i tell you about barging into my room everytime!" He said as he put a hand over his racing heart.
"Oh come on, its funny seeing you scream like a girl!" Masami said with a smug smirk.
"I dont scream like a girl!" The boy said as a light blush spread through his cheeks. "Besides, why did you come over all of a sudden?"
"Well i was bored and had nothing to do, plus its not like i have anyone else to bother.." Masami said as she jumped on Shiro's bed, her hair splaying across her face. "Plus.. its not like the other two wanna hang out with me."
Shiro, as much as he didnt wanna be interrupted at first, felt sympathetic toward her. "Well.. im sure Deya and Shun will warm up to you soon enough – i mean, its summer now is it not? Im sure we –"
"I very much doubt it Shiro." Masami said matter-of-factly. "Dont you see the way they act towards me? I dont even think they think of me as their friend."
At the same time that was happening: Deya's house – in her room.
The brunette had her face planted in her pillow, lost in a sea of her thoughts.
"AGHHH! Why did i have to walk away so abruptly! Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!" Deya tossed and turned on her bed. "Even when she's not at school i still feel so jealous of that dumb tomboy.."
Annoyed and frustrated, Deya got up and out of her bed.
She turned the lights on and walked over to her desk, opening the drawer and taking out a thick photo album then sat down on the edge of her bed.
Deya opened the photo album and began flipping through the pages, the album contained pictures of her and Shiro – a ton of pictures of her and Shiro.
"Where did things go wrong..?" She asked herself as she thought back on the past. "Wasnt i enough for you..? Did i wait too long? Was i too naïve thinking that it would just be me and you.. Shiro?"
"She just had to come in and take you away from me."
Deya closed the photo album and held it close to her chest.
The day goes by and time passes in the blink of an eye – midnight, in Shiro's room :
The boy was laying in his bed, he felt as if he was going to pass out the moment he closed his eyes due to how tired he was.
"Today.. was so exhausting.. i cant anymore.." The boy thought as he shifted in bed, staring at the ceiling. "Dealing with Deya and Masami both in one day is too much for my mind to handle.."
Shiro sighed and brushed back the hair that was falling into his eyes. "I should go to sleep and be done with the day.. but my curiousity is eating away at me – i wanna see what this system is all about!"
And so, the boy who claimed to be oh so tired, sat up and summoned the system just like he read.
System :
Player : {{Shiro}} = LVL 1.
Rebirths : 0.
Trancendances : 0.
Title : [ No title equiped. ]
Passives: [Siphon]
Skills : [Progenitor] (LVL N/A)
Stats : [Strength - 0] [Durability - 0] [Travel, Combat and Attack Speed - 0] [Dexterity - 0] [Stamina - 0] [Mana - 0] [Skill Potency - 0]
All stats cap out at 100.
Available stat points : 5.
"Woah.." Shiro was at a loss for words as he took in what the system had to offer him, his eyes beaming with joy and excitement. "This is so cool! Its just like in the manwha's!"
As Shiro took in all the new information, something caught his eye. "What does Siphon and Progenitor even do?"
Juat then, as if The System was answering his questions, a new screen popped up with the answer to his questions.
Passive : Siphon.
Passive Rarity : Unique.
Passive Info : The Siphon passive allows the user to steal an enemy's skill and add it to their arsenal, but the skill stolen is random.
Skill : Progenitor.
Skill Rarity : Unique (Only one in existance.)
Skill Level : 0 (Skill is unable to level up under any circumstances.)
Skill Info : The Progenitor skill was made and given specifically to {{Shiro}} in accordance with _____. This skill allows the user to bestow upon anyone any skill the user has in their arsenal, but the user cant take it back.
As Shiro read those words a wide, almost childlike smile spread across his face. "NOW THATS AWESOME!"
The boy had to contain his excitement before he started jumping from all the excitement.
"Alright.. alright.. calm down.. so this skill basically allows me to become All For One but the drawback is that i cant take back the skills i give. I guess thats fine, its just the matter of how i obtain these skills besides having to rely on Siphon."
Shiro sighed and looked at the next section – stats. "Ive got five available stat points? And theres multiple stats for SPEED? Oh im definitely taking that!"
Shiro didnt give it another thought as he dumped all of his available stat points into:
Stats increased [Travel, Combat and Attack speed 0 -> 2] [Dexterity 0 -> 2] [Agility 0 -> 1]
"Alright! Now the only problem is how im going to get skills and how im going to level up.."
And just like before, another screen appears infront of Shiro – detailing on how to get skills and levels.
Levels can be optained through gaining enough EXP and leveling up; EXP can be gained from various sources, but the most common ones being from the Daily and Weekly Quests as well as Dungeons, Achievements and many more.
Skills can be obtained through Dungeons (Omly a hanful of them), Rebirths, Trancendances, Achievements and Specified Quests.
"Well, i guess thats solved.. i should head to sleep now, im tired – i can begin with this tommorow."
And so, the boy dispersed of all the screens and closed his eyes, falling asleep as he dreamt of the adventures that await him.
Scene shift – in the streets of the neighbourhood where our protagonists live :
The air was cold, the streets were silent, everyone was already asleep at this hour – few were only awake, that was the same for this man.
The tall lanky man was walking along the empty streets, "Nothing beats a (Jet two holiday) late night walk.. everythings so calm and nobody can interrupt your peace!"
Everything was going swell – but thats when it all went quiet.. too quiet.
The man thought nothing of it, until he heard a noise.
CRACK.
The man froze when he heard the sound, it wasnt completely loud, but to him it was the loudest thing he heard all night.
"Just what was that sound..?" The man wondered as he went to the direction of it. "Hello? Is someone there?"
No one responded as the noise repeated itself several times over.
CRACK.
CRACK.
CRACK.
The sound was almost disorienting but the man stupidly perservered on – as the sound grew louder, he knew he was getting more closer.
And thats when the noises stop.
"What the hell?" The man said as he looked around. "Was it all some prank?!"
And as if the universe itself was answering this man, a thin line cracked diagonally in the air.
"The hell? Am i hallucinating or am i seeing correctly?" He said, slowly backing away out of fear.
And not a second later, that same thin line cracked wide open, as if the fabric between space and time got torn open – but if that wasnt enough, a figure walked through.
"Holy.." The man was at a loss for words as he gazed up at the tall skeletal figure.
The skeltal figure, or creature, was at least seven feet tall who had a katana on his back (What more can i say? Its a skelly).
The skeletal creature unsheathed its blade and in a moments notice, the man ran away with soiled underwear.
"AHHHHH! ITS A MONSTER! A MONSTER!" The man yelled through the quiet neighbourhood.
The skeleton didnt even chase after him, sheathing his blade as the portal between space and time closed behind him.
"It looks like Mistress' magic worked.. this really is a new world." The skeleton said to himself, his voice raspy and and somewhat horse from misuse.
"Mistress would love this.. a new world for the taking."
