If I could write the official handbook on how to avoid nightmares forever, I would. I'd even sell it at half price.
Because seriously... who needs nightmares?!
Life’s already hard enough to make grown men sob over late rent and existential crises.
Sleep should be a reward. A pat on the back that says:
"Hey champ, congrats on surviving another hell of a day. Now drift away while your dreams simulate the life you'll never have."
But nope. Nightmares exist. And worse? My entire family manufactures them!
I was supposed to escape that twisted fate.
I had plans to join the Happydream Faction, spread serotonin, maybe craft a dream about a floating llama.
But my mom—bless her manipulative soul—signed me up for Fearcraft Academy against my will. No permission. No banana milk bribe. Just pure betrayal.
Now I’m stuck in this psychological theme park with other traumatized teens, being trained to craft terror.
And don’t even get me started on our sponsors.
A bunch of creepy entities from who-knows-where who stream human dreams like Netflix.
They watch us. Rate us. Comment shit like:
[ Delicious! This nightmare tasted like despair. I'm in love! ]
And apparently, they pay in cosmic currency, depending on how disturbed your dreamer ends up.
I mean, what?!
Also, quick side note:
My great ancestor once gave [redacted] a nightmare so vivid, it might’ve nudged mankind's global history toward disaster.
So yeah. I’ve got historical trauma in my DNA. Yay me.
Now toss in a roommate who laughs like he enjoys chaos for breakfast, teachers who casually talk about emotional collapse as homework, and a mandatory simulation test where we have to confront our greatest fear—or be demoted to the school’s fear kindergarten.
I don't know how this is going to end.
But if I have to learn how to weaponize memory, manipulate feelings, bend dream physics, and design nightmare avatars...
Hahaha... I guess we'll both have to wait and see.
. . . . . . . . . .
