Lu Feng'er nodded her head, and stretched out her right hand. Suddenly a golden trident with shark-like features appeared in right hand.
"Senior Sister, how about it?" Lu Feng'er said as she spun the trident around in her hand while using the water element, causing a flow of water to splash around her.
"This… How old are you this year." Qian Su said, as she watched Lu Feng'er perform.
"I'm twelve years old." Lu Feng'er answered truthfully.
"Twelve years old and has a brief mastery of the water element." Qian Su muttered as she looked at Lu Feng'er in a different light.
It takes a month for the average genius to comprehend and use their natural element, and judging by her age, she should be newly awakened.
"Little sister, can you stretch out your hand for me?" Qian Su asked in a gentle tone as stretched out her right hand.
Lu Feng'er nodded and stretched out her right hand.
Qian Su wasn't polite and immediately grabbed her wrist and sent a pulse of Qi through her body.
'Judging by the freshness of her Qi, she should only be awakened for less than two weeks. This would mean she'd be a top genius!
"Wait, your Qi?!" Qian Su let out a gasp as she felt Lu Feng'ers Qi.
"110 points? And you're newly awakened!!"
Lu Feng'er nodded and held her head up high.
"How is it, senior sister? Did I pass the first exam?"
Qian Su nodded her head, not hiding her shock at all.
"Little sister, of course you passed. In fact, out of all the people enrolled this year, you should be the best one here in talent. Now follow me and you can now enter the real part of the academy, not just the outer shell."
Lu Feng'er took back her spirit soul and made a slight "hmm" sound and followed behind Qian Su.
As Lu Feng'er followed Qian Su, those who haven't been tested or have failed looked at Lu Feng'er in envy.
"Damn, that girl looks so young compared to us and she still managed to pass the test?" One of the fifteen year old grumbled.
His words reached the others' ears causing them to nod their head. They also wished to have the talent of Lu Feng'er and hope to change their fate. Sadly their bloodline is lacking and can only hope to find a spouse with a better bloodline and let their future kids have a shot at the royal academy.
Just as Lu Feng'er left the outer shell of the academy, Lu Fin and Lu Rensheng appeared on the testing ground.
At this moment, Lu Xiaofeng, who was hiding with the principal, vanished and appeared where the other family members stood.
'Sigh, with the Immortal Jellyfish as their martial spirit will cause quite a stir here.'
Lu Xiaofeng watched them look around the outer shell of the academy as they observed the seniors and the enrolling students, and they eventually found their eyes falling on Lu Xiaofeng.
Lu Xiaofeng gave an encouraging nod to his children, and the two of them branched off to different seniors.
Lu Fin was the second out of the three siblings to be tested.
"Hello little brother, my name is Ling Shu and will be the instructor for your first exam. Please give me your name and martial spirit. You'll also be required to show proof of your martial spirit by summoning it." Ling Shu said, with a bright smile on his youthful face.
Ling Shu wore the standard academy clothes with a high brown ponytail.
"Hello senior brother, my name is Lu Fin and my martial spirit is the Immortal Jellyfish."
Ling Shu quickly wrote down Lu Fin information and paused when he heard Immortal Jellyfish.
'No way, I didn't hit the jackpot like Qian Su right?' Ling Shu thought to himself. He's been overhearing Qian Su's test as he was afraid that a handsome little brother would snatch her away from him, but was instead shocked by the little sister that came up to her. Now, with another little freak, he felt a little numb.
'Wait, surname Lu? Does that mean the two of them are related? No wait, why isn't his surname Shui?'
"Little brother, release your martial spirit for me."
Lu Fin nodded, and a vague avatar of the Immortal Jellyfish appeared behind him.
"Really is the Immortal Jellyfish?" Ling Shu said as he clicked his tongue.
"That's enough. I'm pretty sure you know why you shouldn't display that martial spirit for long."
"Thank you senior, I do." Lu Fin said as he took it back.
Ling Shu couldn't help but shake his head to hide his emotions.
"Alright now little brother, stretch out your right hand."
Ling Shu started to check Lu Fin's age and Qi to make sure they meet the standards of the exam, and sure enough, he passed.
"Alright now, follow me." Ling Shu said.
Lu Fin hesitated, and turned to look at his sister who was still waiting in for a senior sister.
Seeing Lu Fin not following, Ling Shu turned his head and looked at the girl he was staring at and frowned.
"What's wrong? Is that your sister?" Ling Shu asked.
Lu Fin nodded and opened his mouth and spoke, "Senior, my sister also awakened the Immortal Jellyfish Spirit, but is quite soft hearted. I'm afraid of my sister getting attention and becoming the talk of the academy because of her spirit."
Ling Shu looked at Lu Rensheng with a subtle look and turned to face Lu Fin.
"I can bring your sister with me, but you must know that her martial spirit will be revealed once class starts, that is if she's enrolled."
Lu Fin's eyes lit up and bowed to Ling Shu.
"Senior, please help my sister."
Ling Shu laughed at his polite behaviour and waved his hand.
"Don't thank me, thank your bloodline. Just remember you owe me a favour since taking another senior student is very rude. Your sister is most definitely talented since she has the Immortal Jellyfish, and we seniors get paid depending on the talent of the student." Saying that, he walked up to Lu Rensheng with a smile as Lu Fin walked behind him.
Lu Rensheng stood just off to the side, her eyes quietly trailing the senior sister as she evaluated another hopeful enroller vying for a spot in the academy. She didn't step forward just yet, choosing instead to observe, to study. Her gaze flicked along the edges of the courtyard, taking silent note of the others who had come to compete. She wasn't one for direct confrontation; gathering information suited her far better. Whatever she learned today, she'd share with her siblings.
Her heart was already set on the healer's path. She saw no glory in violence, but that didn't mean she'd ignore the other arts. Knowledge, after all, was power in many forms.
Observing for a while, she noticed a senior brother with a high ponytail coming her way alongside her brother that tracked behind him.
"Little sister, do you mind me being your instructor for this exam?" Ling Shu said as he came up to Lu Rensheng.
Lu Rensheng hesitated, her eyes drifting briefly to the senior sister nearby, unsure if it was proper to switch
"Don't worry, I personally did the test for your brother, if you take the test with me, I can take both you and your brother to the second part of the exam."
Hearing his offer, Lu Rensheng couldn't help but feel moved. The fact that she could stay by her brother's side made her feel comfortable. After all, she hasn't socialized with any of her peers before, and having her brother who was more capable at fighting next to her was reassuring.
"Hmm, alright." Lu Rensheng muttered, and stepped forwards.
Ling Shu chuckled and asked the same questions as he did for Lu Fin and quickly wrote down her information.
Lu Xiaofeng watched all of this silently. He wasn't going to offer any of his kids backdoors, especially since their martial spirit is the symbol of the royal family. If the word gets out that someone with the Immortal Jellyfish Spirit entered the academy through a backdoor, the royal family face would be destroyed, thus he wouldn't have the face to visit his father-in-law who doesn;t know that he exists.
But seeing all three of his children pass, a sigh of relief escaped his chest. Although he knew it was almost impossible for the three to fail the first exam, it was still somewhat rewarding in his heart.
'Perhaps this is the true feeling of being a father.' Lu Xiaofeng thought to himself as he watched the backs of Lu Fin and Lu Rensheng disappear before his eyes, and vanished in front of many startled parents.
