For one straight week, Izuku worked out with relentless focus, pushing his small body to its limits. Every muscle ache, every cramp, and every drop of sweat reminded him of what was at stake. Day by day, his movements became more refined, his endurance grew stronger, and his posture more confident. At school, his classmates noticed the change—especially during physical education, where he easily outran all of them in a footrace.
He had also become more helpful around the house, surprising Inko with how mature and dependable he had suddenly become. Whether it was taking out the trash without being told or sweeping the house, Izuku did it all without complaint.
Now, it was Saturday morning. The sun peeked in through the bedroom window, casting light onto the wall opposite his bed. Izuku sat up, shirtless and a little sore, his eyes locking onto the board hanging above his desk. There it was—his Assignment Board—every box ticked, every task scratched off with fierce determination.
' Wow, finished in less than three weeks. Pretty good results,' he thought proudly, wiping a bit of sweat off his brow.
Suddenly, a soft mechanical ding echoed in his head, followed by a notification that shimmered in front of his eyes like a digital hologram.
[ ASSIGNMENT COMPLETE ]
[ HERE ARE YOUR REWARDS ]
● You will become Kryptonian and receive 1% of his powers.
● Your body will begin the Kryptonian Conversion Process.
● Your cells will gradually adapt to Earth's yellow sun, increasing power over time.
● Your pain threshold and durability will also evolve, allowing you to handle future upgrades.
● WARNING: The transformation process will be painful. Initiate at your own risk.
Izuku's eyes widened as he sat frozen in place. A strange warmth was already building up inside his chest, like fire flickering behind his ribs.
' So this is it… it's really happening,' he thought, placing a hand over his heart.
[ DO YOU WISH TO BEGIN THE TRANSFORMATION PROCESS NOW? ]
[ YES / NO ]
Izuku took a deep breath. ' I've trained, I've prepared, and I've earned this. Let's go.'
He mentally selected YES.
The moment he did, an intense burning sensation surged through his entire body. It felt as though lightning had struck every cell at once. He clenched his teeth and fell to the ground, trembling.
' Aghh! S-Shit—! This hurts like hell!' he screamed internally.
His skin felt like it was being peeled from the inside, his bones creaked like they were being reforged. It was agony beyond words—but even through the pain, he smiled.
' No pain, no gain… This… this is what it takes to be strong.'
And so began Izuku's Kryptonian rebirth.
....
Three excruciating hours later, the pain disappeared.
Like it had never been there at all.
Izuku lay on the floor, panting, blinking at the ceiling. Slowly, he sat up, glancing down at his trembling hands. He stood, stretched, and looked around. His body felt… lighter. Stronger. But on the outside, he looked the same.
"Weird," he thought.
[NOTE: Superman's powers unlock and grow stronger over time. As you mature, you'll begin to notice more changes. Be patient.]
That made him sigh.
"So, how do I grow stronger then? I mean, I only got one percent… how do I raise it?"
[You'll need to complete many missions before reaching 50%. But by then, you may not even need more power. Reaching 100% means you'll be completely unshackled—on par with a fully matured Superman.]
"Wait, WHAT!? I thought you already gave me 1% of his power!"
[Correct—but it's 1% of an 18-year-old Superman. Not full potential. If we gave you too much power now, where's the fun in the journey?]
"Tch, I guess you're right. As long as I get to fly and shoot lasers eventually, I'm not complaining."
He stood up and stretched, cracking his neck. His muscles felt springier, more responsive—like his body was humming with a subtle kind of energy.
[Oh, by the way—important update: You and Inko are no longer related.]
"...WHAT!?" he screamed.
.....
Three Months Later…
Izuku and Inko visited the Quirk Registration Center. Surprisingly, the doctor confirmed he had developed a quirk—but they couldn't determine what it was. There were no physical signs, no indicators of what it could be.
They politely asked him to return once he discovered more.
"Yeah… not happening," Izuku thought as they walked out.
Later that day, he stood outside his house, the midday sun shining down on him. As the rays hit his skin, he suddenly felt something awaken within him.
A warm, powerful pulse surged through his chest, spreading outward. His lips curled into a grin. ' That always feels good. I should go to the beach.'
But just as Izuku was about to cross the road, an Assignment Board flickered into existence right in front of his face, glowing faintly with a golden hue. The sudden appearance made him flinch and step back in surprise, nearly bumping into a passerby.
"What the hell—!?" he muttered, blinking rapidly.
The board shimmered as glowing text appeared in front of him:
---
[ASSIGNMENT]
● Objective: Save the little girl from being hit by a car
Rewards:
+1% Power Increase
Hand-to-Hand Combat (Beginner Proficiency)
---
Izuku's eyes widened as he instinctively turned his head. In the distance—barely twenty meters away—a small girl had broken away from her mother, chasing a bouncing ball into the road. A car was speeding down the lane, the driver unaware, the child oblivious. Her mother's scream pierced the air, full of raw panic.
'That's… actually useful, unlike the bonus reward you gave me before ' Izuku thought quickly, remembering what he received months ago.
[BONUS REWARDS: Complete 2 weeks]
Stylish Glasses
+5 Extra Inches (Dih)
Custom Superman Suit
'Besides the second and maybe the first one, the last one is kinda useless—it's too big for me to wear,' he thought dryly.
But he didn't have time to dwell on it. His ears caught the squeal of tires and the girl's scream growing louder. Without thinking, he pulled up his hoodie and muttered under his breath:
"It's Hero Time…"
He paused.
'Fuck, that's cringe,' he thought, cringing at himself as he crouched low.
