Lust Island Mission

The heat of Lust Island seemed to seep into my skin, a constant, oppressive reminder that I was here for something far more dangerous than fun.

My mission was simple on the surface: infiltrate the island's high-profile party, get close to the target, and extract the intel we needed. But nothing ever was as simple as it seemed, and I'd learned that the hard way.

I was supposed to be focused, in and out, no distractions. But the memory of Kirk's intense, possessive gaze and the electric tension between me and Luke kept intruding into my thoughts. It was as if they were both still here, watching me, waiting for me to slip, to break.

I tugged at the hem of my dress, the tight fabric clinging to my body as I walked through the pristine white sands of the private beach. The water was a crystal-clear blue, the island's natural beauty almost hypnotic. But I couldn't let myself get lost in it. I had a job to do, and I couldn't afford to fail.

I had already received the assignment, get in, gather intel on the weapon shipment, and get out. The island was known for its extravagant parties, an elite, secretive gathering of powerful people who used it to meet, discuss shady deals, and indulge in pleasures of all kinds.

My target was a man named Sebastian Kline, a weapons dealer with ties to every major criminal organization in the world.

I could feel the weight of the task ahead of me, but it was hard to focus with the taste of Kirk's lips still fresh on mine and the sound of Luke's voice echoing in my ears. They had seen me, truly seen me, in ways I hadn't allowed anyone else to. Their touch had left a mark on me, one I couldn't ignore.

I stopped at the edge of the pool, my heart still beating a little faster than usual. I wasn't sure if it was from the thrill of the mission or the memory of what happened here.

There were only a few people lounging around the pool, enjoying the sun, but none of them mattered. I was here for one reason, and I couldn't afford to get sidetracked.

A man in a sharp suit approached me, his eyes scanning me up and down as he took a slow sip from his glass. He looked the part, a powerful businessman with connections to people far more dangerous than the average criminal. I had to admit, he was exactly who I was supposed to be targeting.

"You're new here," he said smoothly, his accent thick and rich, like he'd been drinking money all his life.

I smiled, the same practiced smile I'd perfected over years of training. "I'm just visiting," I replied, my voice light and disarming. "And you must be Mr. Kline. I've heard so much about you."

He chuckled, leaning in slightly, his eyes now twinkling with amusement. "Is that so? I must admit, I'm flattered. But why don't you tell me what you've heard?"

I tilted my head, maintaining my professional composure.

I wasn't here to flirt, to get distracted, but it was hard when his presence was so commanding. "Let's just say... the right people have been talking about you."

His smile grew wider, almost predatory. "I like people who know the right people." He paused, his gaze lingering a little too long on me. "You're quite beautiful, Miss…"

"Sophie," I cut in smoothly, offering my hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Kline."

He took my hand, his grip firm and strong. But as I stood there, shaking his hand, I couldn't shake the feeling that this was just the beginning.

The moment I had been waiting for had arrived. But something else lingered, too, the sense of their presence, of Kirk and Luke, always hanging in the back of my mind.

I quickly pushed those thoughts aside. Focus. I had to focus on the mission.

But just as I was about to speak again, my earpiece crackled. It was my handler.

"Sophie, we've got a situation. Kline's deal is about to go down, and you need to move. We've intercepted information about a shipment of weapons arriving at the island tonight. It's the key to bringing him down."

I nodded, adjusting my dress as I walked away from Kline. "Understood. I'll get the information, but I'll need backup. I'm not alone here."

The silence in my ear told me everything. I was on my own. Always on my own.

But that was fine. I was used to it. I wasn't going to let anything, or anyone, get in my way.

As I walked to the edge of the terrace, I spotted a familiar face. One I wasn't expecting. Luke. He was leaning casually against the balcony, watching me with that same smug, almost amused expression. I froze, my heart sinking into my stomach.

What the hell was he doing here?

I could feel the heat rising in my chest. I didn't want him here. I didn't need him here. But I couldn't deny the electric current that passed between us as our eyes met. His gaze was sharp, almost like he was testing me, waiting for me to slip.

"You're here," I said, my voice colder than I intended.

"Did you think I'd let you have all the fun, Sophie?" Luke's voice was a low, dangerous whisper, the words carrying a weight I couldn't ignore. "You've been playing with fire, haven't you?"

I forced myself to look away, my heart beating harder now. I couldn't focus on him. Not now. Not when I had a mission to complete.

"Get out of my way, Luke," I said, my tone firm.

But he didn't move. He stepped closer instead, his eyes boring into mine. "You think you can just walk away from us? From what happened?"

"I didn't come here for you," I snapped, trying to push past him, but my hand brushed against his chest, and for a brief moment, I felt the familiar heat of his touch.

My body reacted against my will, but I shoved the sensation down.

"Funny how that works," Luke said, a slight smirk tugging at his lips. "I've seen what you're capable of, Sophie. But you're not going to walk away from us that easily."

I swallowed hard, trying to push past the flood of emotions that threatened to break through. But I couldn't. His words were right, I wasn't walking away from them. And I wasn't sure I wanted to.

But the mission came first. The mission had to come first.

"I'm not here for a repeat of last time, I don't do sex for the second time with the same person, Luke," I said, my voice steady despite the turmoil in my chest.

Luke's smirk faded, replaced with a dark, unreadable expression. "We'll see, won't we?"

And with that, I left him standing there, my mind a swirl of thoughts I couldn't control. The mission was still the priority, but no matter how hard I tried to focus, I couldn't stop thinking about them.

I wasn't supposed to be distracted. But they weren't letting me forget.
