PEACE AND PAIN
Raven borrows SISTER 1's clothes (a little too big for her, but she doesn't mind).
She slips away silently while the house is asleep.The rooftop is high above, the chaos below seems so distant yet so close.
Raven stands, looking out over the world that's fallen apart.A sudden CREEK—the sound of a door opening.
She whips around, hand instinctively going to her knife.
It's Orion.
ORION (calmly):"Relax. It's me." 😐
Raven sighs in relief.
RAVEN (rolling her eyes):"Okay, okay." 🥱
ORION (grinning):"Figured you'd be up here."
RAVEN (smirking):"What gave it away,the zombie killer vibe." 😎
They both chuckle, a moment of shared humor in the chaos.
Raven glances down at the chaos below — the fires, the distant screams.
It's all still there.
RAVEN (quietly, more to herself):"It's kinda the type of quiet I like..." ☺️
ORION (surprised):"You… like this chaos?" 😦
RAVEN (nods, with a small smile):"Yes." 😊
Orion notices the smile, something soft and genuine.
It's the first time he's seen it.
He just stares at her, speechless for a moment, before turning away slightly. 😳
Suddenly—
A loud groan echoes nearby. Raven and Orion both freeze, hearts pounding for a second.
They exchange a look. 😅😅
They both turn, looking back at the sky, then slowly head back downstairs.
Orion returns to the couch, where he was sleeping earlier.
RAVEN (quietly):"I'll keep the knife with me, just in case." 🫡
She sits up, knife in hand, staying alert.
Raven starts to drift off…
In the morning,the sun shineing ,suddenly, someone tries to wake her up.
RAVEN (instinctively grabs the hand, knife to the neck):"Who—"
She freezes.
It's SISTER 2.
RAVEN (realizing):
"Oh my God, I'm so sorry. You just—"
SISTER 2 (chuckling nervously):
"It's okay." 😨
Suddenly, Orion and SISTER 1 come rushing in, shocked.
ORION (wide-eyed):
"What the hell?!" 😮
SISTER 1 (stunned):
"Is she okay?!" 😨
MOM AND DAD (entering quickly):
"What happened??" 😨😨
Raven quickly takes a bath, changes into fresh clothes, and heads downstairs for breakfast.
It's quiet. Too quiet. Orion's sister 2 is nowhere to be seen.
Suddenly—ZOMBIES appear on the horizon.ZOMBIES begin to emerge from the trees, staggering toward the house.
Raven and Orion are at the table, while SISTER 1 sits on the couch, headphones on.
MOM AND DAD are near the gate, unaware.
Zombies start swarming.
RAVEN (grabbing the two biggest knives):"Let's do this." 🔪🔪
Orion quickly grabs a knife too, ready to fight.
Chaos erupts. Orion and Raven fight off zombies with deadly precision, cutting through the horde.
Orion, eyes wide with horror, suddenly spots his parents—they've been bitten by Sister 2.
ORION (shock, rage, disbelief)😡😠😧😮😦😨😰😵💫😣😖
Raven doesn't miss a beat, cutting through zombies, but she knows Orion's breaking.
RAVEN (yelling):"ORION, MOVE!" 🔪
She cuts through the zombies in front of him and rushes toward the gate, closing it behind them.
But it's too late. SISTER 1, still wearing headphones, has no idea what's happening until—A ZOMBIE BITES HER. She falls, screaming, but she didn't even hear it coming.
Raven runs back to her, but she has to kill her to protect them. 😕
ORION (witnessing it all) He drops to his knees, tears filling his eyes. Silent grief.
RAVEN:"I'm sorry, Orion... I didn't—"
Orion's not listening. He's broken.
