KYLIE's POV
“Which way?” I asked when we made it out of the room.
“Probably the direction without the sound of incoming monks.” Elijah said weakly.
I could hear footsteps too, running in our direction. I might have made a run for it, but Elijah felt too weak and I couldn’t put him through any more strain.
“They are already so close.” I said, tightening my grip around his body.
"Kylie, go.”
“No.” I said, I tried to move , but he didn’t want to go and I looked up at him in confusion.
“Go Kylie. find Jason and the both of you get out of here. I’ll deal with them.”
“What’s going to happen to you?” I whined.
“I’ll be fine.”Elijah said, trying to stand upright, but I shook my head adamantly.
"No way. I'm not leaving you. I’d die before I leave you." I said and stood still as the monks came into view. And they looked royally pissed.
Good . We could all be pissed together.
"I thought those witches said the ropes would hold her down for a long time?" the eldest monk said.
