One week before my wedding to my fiancé, Don Dominic Romano, my mother went to Mexico to negotiate on behalf of my sister's company.

Don't Make Me Hate You

Dominic froze as if he'd been struck by lightning.


He whirled around and stormed back into the hospital room, his hand shooting out to grab Kayla’s wrist.


“What were you doing in Mexico last month?”


“I… I was just there for some on-site research…”


Kayla winced in pain. “Dominic, you’re hurting me…”


“The day before the incident with Karina's mother, you just happened to be in the same place. Was that just a coincidence?”


“What do you mean? Are you accusing me?”


“Those art deals at your company… what are they really about?”


Dominic’s eyes were like ice. “Did Karina’s mother find something out?”


Unable to break free, Kayla threw all caution to the wind.


“So what if she did? It’s her own fault for being so stubborn! I told her to just play along, but she insisted on going to the police, so I had no choice but to…”


Dominic’s voice was dangerously quiet.
