Bloodbound Evolution

Zack moved like the wind toward the intruder whose face was completely covered with black cloth.

His fist aimed at the stomach of Victor.

Victor's smile widened. I would have just drunk your blood and run away if you kept sleeping like a little girl, but now I want to enjoy beating you.

Victor easily caught the fist of Zack.

Zack's blue eyes widened.

Crunch!

He twisted his wrist.

Zack's lips parted as a scream was just about to rise from his throat.

A punch came hurling at his face.

Bam!

Zack's scream died in his throat as his nose and several teeth got shattered.

Thud!

He fell on the floor, clutching his face, and warm blood trickling through his fingers.

Victor smiled as he remembered that he used to groan like that on the wet floor of the school's restroom.

Anger rose in his heart as the memory resurfaced.

Bam!

Bam!

Kicks rained down on Zack's stomach.

Zack felt his vision getting dark, blood choking his throat.

Cough!

Cough!

Victor stopped and etched the sight in his memory.

Zack's trembling eyes looked toward the merciless intruder, hiding his face under the black cloth.

With all the energy he can muster, he asked in hoarse voice "Wh…Who… are …you?"

Bam!

Bam!

Two kicks slammed into his stomach, cutting his strength.

Blood and bile came into his mouth; a sour taste mixed with iron.

Cough!

Cough!

Shallow and ragged breaths sounded in the silent and dimly lit room.

'What is going on? Who is this bastard? Why is he beating me? I want to scream; I want to scream!' Zack's thoughts went wild as he cursed Victor in his mind.

Victor stopped and crouched down. He grabbed Zack by the neck and looked into his eyes, pausing for a little second. He hesitated a little, but then a thought like a hammer struck his mind: 'If I want to be stronger, I must learn to be ruthless to my enemies.'

He brought Zack's neck closer to his mouth. Without any delay, he slid the mask aside, and fangs pierced his neck.

As fangs bit Zack's neck, darkness coated his vision, and his body went limp, losing consciousness.

The taste of iron overwhelmed Victor's aste buds.

He felt the strange euphoria as he gulped.

After taking only two sips, he backed away.

Thud!

Zack's limp body fell on the floor again.

Warm blood trickled down from Victor's fanged mouth.

He looked at the body of Zack, his eyes still didn't have any remorse or guilt, but they seemed unsatisfied.

"I should have beaten him slowly; years of beating can't be washed away with only one beating," Victor muttered.

Ding…

Ding…

Ding…

His thoughts were interrupted by the system's notification.

He sat down on the floor, crossing his legs.

The crimson panel popped in front of him.

Victor nodded with a smile and looked at the other notification.

Suddenly, his eyes widened as he heard several sounds of footsteps approaching.

He stood up and found the glass window leading outside.

He moved toward it and opened it.

Moon's pale blue light fell on his face, and his golden glowing eyes found the roof far away from the building.

Click!

The door opened.

Without any further thought, he jumped.

Thud!

He landed on his feet and rolled over, hiding under the shadows of houses.

"Arghh!" A muffled groan escaped from his mouth as he felt the pain hitting deep in his bones and his legs went numb.

He stood up with his unsteady feet and ran in the dark alley.

Guards looked out of the window and alarms sounded in all the vicinity.

Several Guards came where Victor fell and followed his trail in the alley.

Victor, without any stop, ran; he could feel pain in his legs still lingering from the jump.

He didn't stop. After running for half an hour, he turned into a narrow, darker alley and found the dumpster, hiding behind it.

The stench was horrible; nobody would even think of standing near it.

His chest heaving, he leaned on the wall and sat down.

Crimson panel popped before his eyes.

But time kept running.

[Vampire blood activating. Brace yourself.]

Pain wracked Victor's body; he took his mask off and rolled the cloth, and putting it in his mouth.

"Arghhh!"

He bit into the cloth, and muffled groans escaped from his mouth. He felt his body breaking and reshaping, as if being torn apart from inside and rebuilt from within.

His eyes became bloodshot as he kept clenching the cloth.

He slumped on the filthy ground of the alley, convulsing in pain.

He felt like hot iron needles were poking all over his body.

The torture went on for 15 minutes as his eyes were about to close, surrendering to darkness, the pain vanished suddenly.

Victor lay there, with sweat and blood mixed with the filth of a dirty alley.

A red screen hovered above his head
