The husband walked into the kitchen and said, "Sophia, the dry cleaners called to say the suit is ready."
I then snapped out of it and quickly said, "Okay, I'll go after dinner."
After my husband spoke, he returned to the sofa and sat down. I glanced toward my mother-in-law, and sure enough, her face couldn't hold her emotions.
"Sophia, it's rare for Emily to come back home. She wants to eat that sweet duck from Naven Street, can you go buy one and bring it back?"
"I'll keep some chicken soup for you. Go quickly and come back soon."
At this point, my sister-in-law and Robert seemed a bit perplexed, while my mother-in-law kept signaling with her eyes.
My sister-in-law finally nodded and smiled at me, saying, "Yes, sister-in-law, sorry for the trouble."
I smiled and took off my apron.
"Alright, I'll go buy it right away."
"Perfect, hubby, your suit is at a dry cleaners in Naven Street anyway, I'll just pick it up too."
