Chapter 4: Awakening in the Unknown World

Chapter 4: Awakening in the Unknown World

A loud gasp escaped Kai's lips as he jerked upright. His vision was blurry, his body sore, and a stifling heat rose in his chest before it was replaced by a wave of cool, clean air. It took him several moments to realize he was lying on grass—real grass, soft and fragrant under his fingers. A vast blue sky stretched endlessly above him, and unfamiliar birds circled overhead.

He sat up, blinking hard as he took in the surroundings. He was in a vast open field surrounded by scattered forests and towering mountains in the distance. The air was crisp, the sun bright but not harsh. Everything felt unnaturally clean—too perfect.

Kai's heart pounded as fragmented memories returned. The blinding white void. The voice of the Supreme God. The revelation. And finally, the moment he chose to transmigrate into a fantasy world rather than be reincarnated.

"Is this… the world I chose?" he murmured.

Just then, a notification blinked before his eyes like a transparent screen floating in the air.

Kai stared at the floating window in awe. It really was like the RPG games and light novels he used to read and play during his life back on Earth. And this wasn't a dream.

"What the hell... I really am in another world."

His moment of awe was interrupted when another screen appeared.

Unique Skill Acquired: Skill Creation (Locked)

Skill Creation will activate once foundational physical condition is tested and validated.

---

"Locked?" he echoed. "Foundational condition?"

He stood up and took a few tentative steps. His legs felt weaker than usual, likely from the transmigration, but he quickly adapted. His body was still the same—or close enough—but he would need to rebuild stamina.

To test himself, Kai spent the next several hours jogging across the field, doing push-ups, practicing simple martial arts drills he remembered from YouTube and manga, and climbing a few hills. Sweat ran down his back, and his breath grew ragged. Birds scattered as he passed, and a few glowing insects flitted through the trees nearby. He observed every detail: the texture of bark, the shimmer in the leaves, and the chill in the mountain winds.

He even noticed a few other creatures, including a flock of birds with translucent wings, and once, a deer with moss-like fur. None attacked, but their appearance left him awestruck.

Finally, after stretching and exhausting himself until his body could take no more, another notification pinged.

Kai nearly collapsed from relief. "It worked... I got the skill."

With a deep breath, he focused.

"I need something simple first… something that'll help me stay alive."

He imagined a radar—a danger sense. Something that could alert him if a threat approached.

He closed his eyes, concentrating hard. The air around him shimmered. Mana surged, and he gritted his teeth as a slight headache formed from the strain.

As the system confirmed the success, a faint buzzing sensation brushed against the edge of his mind. He turned instinctively—and spotted movement.

A small creature hopped into the clearing.

It was a rabbit—but unlike any rabbit he'd ever seen. Its fur was white as snow, and a single spiraled horn jutted from its nose. Its eyes glowed faintly red.

"A unicorn rabbit?" Kai whispered, stunned.

The creature paused and sniffed the air. It didn't seem hostile, but Kai didn't lower his guard.

Just then, the Danger Sense buzzed in his mind again—more insistent.

He turned his head to the right and noticed a large bush rustling. Something was moving inside it, much bigger than the rabbit. He backed away slowly, following his gut.

He moved toward the trees on the far side of the field and came upon the mouth of a cave hidden behind layers of vines.

"I need to regroup and plan."

He ducked inside, the cave surprisingly dry and cool. It was narrow but deep enough to provide some safety. As he settled against the rock wall and caught his breath, the magnitude of everything finally hit him.

He was in a completely different world. Alone. But alive.

And now… he had power. Power he could shape. Power he could grow.

Kai clenched his fists. "I'll survive. No—more than that. I'll rise."
