Chapter Twenty-Seven

Judge Jackson

I raced out of the pack house, dodging curious and equally aggravating wolves who wanted to conference with me after Elder Francis’s departure.

“Judge Jackson!” Judge Max shouted, following me to my car.

“I can’t talk. Imani’s in trouble!”

“Do you need backup?”

I paused briefly to consider his offer and shook his head. “No, it’s best there are no witnesses. I wouldn’t want you to have to perjure yourself on my behalf in case shit goes left.”

I didn’t wait for a response and jumped in my car. Gravel kicked up and sprayed behind my vehicle as it lurched down the driveway. I hit the corner that would take me to Alpha Andrew’s house and prayed that Imani would be safe until I’d gotten there.

If he lays a hand on her…the Moon Goddess won’t be able to save him.
