Having fun with Xiao Bai

Li Anqi stood in the middle of the room, her thoughts still full from everything she'd just learned. She looked at Xiao Bai, hesitating for a moment before asking through telepathy,"Do you have any books here? Like… a library?"

Xiao Bai blinked and stretched lazily."Of course. Why didn't you ask earlier?"

Before she could reply, he had already turned and begun walking toward the back of the house. His fluffy tail swayed like a little flag. Li Anqi quickly followed him, her little legs hurrying to keep up. She didn't know how the space worked, but as they walked, a hallway she hadn't seen before appeared in front of them.

At the end was a wooden door. Not fancy or magical-looking, but simple and warm.

Xiao Bai looked back and said,"This is the library."

The door opened on its own with a soft creak. The moment she stepped inside, Li Anqi's mouth fell open slightly. It was full of books. So many books. Rows and rows of shelves. Some of them reached all the way to the ceiling. The smell of old pages and ink floated in the air. She stood still for a moment, soaking it in.

"This really is a library…"

Xiao Bai gave a small purr."Not just any library. It has books from every era and every place this space has ever been tied to. And now, it's yours too."

Li Anqi slowly walked between the shelves, her fingers brushing lightly against the spines of the books. Some titles she didn't understand at all. Some didn't even seem to be in a language she recognized. She felt a little overwhelmed.

"Do you have books in my previous native language… or in English?" she asked softly."I want to read those too… until I fully learn this language."

Xiao Bai nodded."There's a shelf here for that. Wait here I'll search and show you."

He disappeared between two tall shelves, silent as a shadow. After a moment, his voice echoed back,"I found it. Let me lead the way."

Li Anqi followed him again, her eyes still darting around the library in awe. Her heart felt light, like she was one step closer to reclaiming a part of herself.

Xiao Bai led her to a quiet corner of the library, where the shelves were shorter, just within her reach.

Li Anqi sat down on the soft rug in front of the shelf Xiao Bai had shown her. The light in this part of the library was warm and calm, like the soft golden glow of a late afternoon sun.

She reached out and began browsing the books carefully, one by one.

Some titles were in English. Some were in the language she had used in her past life. Just seeing them again made her feel a little more like herself, like a piece of her old world had quietly followed her here.

Xiao Bai lay curled up next to her, his tail twitching now and then. He didn't speak. He just stayed there quietly, like a little ball of warmth.

She glanced at him after a while and asked through telepathy,"Will I be able to read all these someday?"

Xiao Bai opened one eye and gave a slow blink."You will. One step at a time. You've already started."

She nodded lightly, eyes returning to the page. She didn't rush. There was no need. For now, she just wanted to read, to understand, to let her thoughts settle.

Maybe this space wasn't just a mystery or a secret hiding place. Maybe… it was also a place to grow.

She kept reading until her eyes grew tired and the words began to blur. But in her heart, there was a quiet excitement.

There were still so many books to read.

And this was only the beginning.

She then looked at Xiao Bai, her eyes still full of quiet wonder.

"I want to learn Country C's language too," she said through telepathy. "So I can read more… and understand this world better."

Xiao Bai blinked slowly, as if her request pleased him.

"That's a good thought," he said, stretching out his paws like a lazy cat who had all the time in the world. "The more you understand, the better you can use this space. And yourself."

Li Anqi nodded seriously. Even if she was small now, she wasn't going to stay that way forever. She would learn everything, every word, every page, every secret this space held.

Xiao Bai flicked his tail toward another section of the library. "There's a row with beginner language scrolls and audio crystals. Start there. I'll mark it for you."

With a soft hum, a tiny golden light floated from the tip of his tail, drifting across the shelves until it stopped, glowing gently above a lower row.

Li Anqi's eyes sparkled a little. "You're really magical."

Xiao Bai gave a soft snort. "Of course. I'm the guardian, after all."

Then, almost smugly, he turned in a circle and flopped down again, curling into a ball.

Li Anqi grinned to herself and padded over to the glowing shelf. She was still a baby in the outside world, but here, she had books, a guide, and a place to begin.

And that was more than enough.

She turned to Xiao Bai again, hope flickering in her thoughts.

"Is there… a teaching room too? Maybe someone who can teach me directly?"

Xiao Bai gave a small shake of his head. "No teachers. Not the kind you're thinking of."

Her shoulders drooped slightly. But before she could feel disappointed, Xiao Bai added, his voice light with a hint of pride,"But there is a computer room. With internet access."

Li Anqi blinked, surprised. "Internet? Here?"

He nodded, standing and flicking his tail again. "This space adjusts to its owner's time and world. Since you're from a place with technology, it has provided what you need."

Her heart gave a small leap.

"A whole computer room…" she whispered, almost to herself.

"Yes," Xiao Bai continued. "Laptop, tablet, projector, a quiet desk, headphones. You can learn anything. Languages, history, even how to grow plants or fix machines, if you want."

Li Anqi was stunned for a moment, standing very still. She hadn't expected this at all. A magical space, an ancient guardian, and now… the internet?

She laughed softly in her mind. A strange, wonderful mix of old and new.

"Can you take me there?" she asked eagerly.

Xiao Bai gave a lazy stretch. "Come. But be careful not to get addicted to videos."

She giggled silently and followed him, a new kind of excitement bubbling in her tiny chest.

Even without a teacher, she now had a whole world to explore, just a few clicks away.
