Thunder struck, literally and inside me.That flash of lightning lit up half her face, and I froze.
The eyes. Those same unforgettable, stubbornly unforgettable, annoyingly beautiful eyes from the fest.
"Is this real?" my inner voice whispered.I didn't even blink. Just kept staring like a fool.
What the hell, bro?I searched for her like a madman for five days checking departments, canteens, even girl's cultural clubs!
And now, when I gave up... she appears. Just like that.
Out of nowhere.
Like a dramatic heroine entry from a Telugu movie. Thunder included.
"Excuse me..." she said softly.
I didn't respond.
She tapped my hand again, breaking my trance."Can you help me with this?"
"Y-Yeah, sure," I stuttered. I was a walking glitch.
I leaned over to see her screen. It was just a simple font alignment thing on MS Word.
My brain screamed, "This? What a dumb? She couldn't figure out this?!"But my mouth stayed shut.
I calmly fixed it and nodded. "Done."
She smiled slightly. "Thanks."
I turned back to my screen and pretended to be super busy. But I couldn't concentrate. Not when she was beside me.
Not when I was finally breathing the same air as that thunder girl again.
A few seconds passed.
She turned to me,
"Umm… actually… can you tell me how it works?"
I turned to her again.
She was pointing to the screen with a confused look, biting her lower lip slightly. My inner self exploded. Control your brain, idiot. Focus on the question!
I explained slowly, carefully.
She nodded with an "Okay…" and got back to work.
I tried not to look again. I really did.
But when I peeked once more,
the bell rang.College done.
I was like a bit of happy and bit of sad.
She packed her bag and left quietly. And me?I just sat there, smiling at my keyboard like a lunatic.
"Why today… why now?" I whispered.
And for the first time, I wasn't waiting to talk to the moon.I was waiting for the next computer lab.
