The Last Proof of Humanity

A glowing, completely white human figure levitating in the strange space greeted Zoren with a solemn voice.

"Do you seek revenge?"

Zoren found himself kneeling before the white figure, clutching his chest not from pain, but from trauma, his eyes wide with shock.

The glowing figure ceased levitating and gently landed in front of him, gazing down as Zoren remained on his knees.

Zoren slowly looked up, still trembling with fear, only to see that the figure had no face.

"What do you mean... by revenge?" he whispered, his voice shaking.

"I'll give you another chance to live. However, you will not be able to remain on the same planet while the demons rule it," the figure declared.

"Then... why did you ask if I seek revenge?" he asked, tears streaming down his face as he touched it.

"I see. You humans are still the same. You're already giving up. You're truly powerless," the figure said coldly, then knelt on one knee in front of Zoren.

Upon hearing those words, Zoren's sorrow turned to anger. He looked up at the figure, eyes burning with rage.

"ARE YOU THE SAME AS THEM?!" Zoren shouted, lunging forward to push the figure, but his hands passed straight through. He stumbled and fell, hitting his face on the invisible black ground. He couldn't make contact with the figure at all.

The figure vanished and reappeared a moment later, now standing before him once more.

"I'm not a demon. I'm something else," the figure said.

"Then what do you want? Why are you asking me?" Zoren demanded, rising to his feet.

"You have the potential to defeat the demons. That's why I chose you," the figure replied, pointing at Zoren's head.

"You will bring justice to humanity, avenge them all, and take revenge. You are the most special human, far more special than your mother, father, or brother."

The figure began to casually circle Zoren as he continued speaking. Zoren tracked the figure's movements carefully, listening intently.

"You possess an unmeasurable IQ," the figure stated, pausing to look directly at Zoren.

"W-what?" Zoren stammered.

"Me? My IQ is 80. There's no way I have an unmeasurable IQ. I'm just a normal human with no talents."

"You still don't understand, Zoren. Your mother has an IQ of 210, your father an IQ of 230, and your brother an IQ of 270, but your IQ is unmeasurable," he said, levitating above Zoren.

"Now, let me ask you a question. I know you'll comprehend this."

"Nothing and everything exist, but nothing exists because of everything, and everything exists because it is everything. What about the incompleteness theorem by the legendary human from Earth, Kurt Gödel? Is it complete or incomplete?"

The figure suddenly vanished and reappeared behind Zoren.

Zoren tried to remain calm before answering slowly.

"Incompleteness exists because it is complete. The incompleteness itself is complete. If incompleteness were incomplete, it could not be called incompleteness, because it would be incomplete. That is why it is called incompleteness, because it is a complete form of incompleteness."

The mysterious figure clapped before speaking.

"An impressive answer, Zoren. Completeness and incompleteness both exist as concepts. Just as nothing exists because there is everything, incompleteness exists because of completeness, and both are complete."

The figure asked Zoren another question:

"Any consistent formal system capable of expressing basic arithmetic will contain true statements that cannot be proven within the system itself, according to Gödel's First Incompleteness Theorem. How does this connect to the phrase, 'Everything is possible and impossible'?"

Zoren thought for three seconds before answering slowly.

"Every system has its own structure and exists within another system, which, in turn, is part of a larger whole. Therefore, anything that cannot be proven within a system is, in itself, a provable concept that the system may or may not be able to prove."

The figure casually opened a hole that revealed different planets, none of them Earth, only planets from unknown galaxies. The glowing figure casually used its hand to scroll through dimensions. Zoren saw planets without a sun, roaming freely in space, and others slowly breaking apart. The figure showed how vulnerable these planets were.

The glowing figure stopped and looked at Zoren, without closing the magical hole.

"Now, Zoren. No consistent formal system powerful enough to represent basic arithmetic can prove its own consistency, according to Gödel's Second Incompleteness Theorem. When I showed you these different planets, some with suns guiding them, some without and slowly breaking, how does this connect to the theorem?"

Zoren slowly walked toward the visual magic before answering.

"The planets are objects that exist within a system. Planets without a sun rely on a larger system, which is space itself, while planets with a sun rely on the sun as their system. This means that both types of systems can be inconsistent, as these planets do not rely on a stable system, but rather on one that constantly changes."

The figure then showed Earth, where demons were brutally killing humans including children, who cried as they watched their parents die.

Zoren was shocked and instinctively stepped back the moment he saw a random demon tear off a child's head.

"Now that you know you have a talent, and I've told you that you possess an unmeasurable IQ, let me tell you something else. The war between demons and humans has already begun. Earth was attacked only today, but the truth is that every human-inhabited planet even in different galaxies is currently being invaded and controlled by demons."

"As of today, there are no humans left alive. And there is no one else with the potential to defeat every demon, except you. But your journey will be painful. You will endure the pain of all humans and carry all their rage. Their souls seek justice, and the only way for you to defeat the demons is by giving you another chance."

Zoren kept watching the magical vision. Humans were dying at the hands of demons and monsters. His expression changed, he slowly began to frown as he saw more.

"Earth is the most advanced human planet. It should be home to the most powerful and intelligent humans even if it is smaller than other human planets. However, the demons remain superior."

"I have only limited power. I can only give you the ability to learn magic on your own. I can't give you magic directly, because I'm already using my energy to resurrect you. After doing this, I will cease to exist. That's why I need you."

Zoren looked down. His face was serious but completely calm. His eyebrows tightened after seeing everything.

Zoren spoke, "So, does that mean you're sacrificing yourself to resurrect me and give me the ability to learn magic? But what if I don't succeed?"

The figure replied, "I trust you, Zoren. When I told you that you have an unmeasurable IQ, I meant it. You can learn any magic you see. From now on, you can use magic. So yes, I will die out of trust."

Still filled with rage, Zoren began to tear up. His face was filled with anger, but it was clear he was also deeply saddened, as silent tears streamed down.

The figure spoke once more: "So, will you accept my offer?"

Zoren wiped his tears.

"I will... I'm going to accept it..." he whispered.

"THOSE DAMN DEMONS!!! I WILL ERADICATE THEM ALL!!! I'M GOING TO EXTERMINATE EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM!!! I WILL AVENGE HUMANITY AND BRING JUSTICE!!! I WILL NOT FORGIVE ANY OF THEM!!!" he shouted, as his tears flowed even more.

"AHHHHHHHH!!!" he screamed, kneeling down and looking at the invisible black ground.

"Thank you, Zoren. May you bring justice and honor to the humans," the figure said, placing a hand on Zoren's head. A white light began emanating around Zoren and throughout the surroundings.

Zoren's vision began to blur, and he slowly lost consciousness as the glowing figure started vanishing into thin air. The figure waved goodbye before disappearing completely.

THE EARTH | YEAR 2038

ZOREN'S BIRTHDAY – FEBRUARY 18

INSIDE THE RED DRAGON'S GIANT CAVE

Zoren lay unconscious deep within a narrow crevice. He awoke three years later in a place far more terrifying than he could have imagined, one inhabited by one of the most powerful creatures.

As he slowly regained consciousness, he found himself under the watchful gaze of a dragon, colossal in size, towering like a building. The beast opened its mouth and pointed directly at him.
