Chapter 3

On the second day Amara finally decided to went out. 

"Now or never Clara!"

It was a nice morning.

Amara was wearing a light dress and under it, she sneakily wore her half pants, the clothes she personally gave for tailored. And it was incredibly comfortable for her. In her past life, she would wore dress on one occasion and that was wedding. Other than that, she would wore pants, shirts, coats and jackets with it's many designs and types. She loved dressing comfortably.

Amara walks with Clara and both of them were munching on the cookies that Amara had on her hands. 

"There seems to be a banner detailed map over there, My Lady"

Clara pointed at the direction and both of them head over to the location of the detailed map of The Magic Academy. 

"Hmmm"

Amara was checking out the map. She knew nothing much about the compound of the Magic Academy except of those places the main character's plot usually took place. But even those locations, were hard to find just roaming around. The compound was just that huge. 

The Magic Academy is separated from the outside world by a huge wall from all sides, only the entrance gate is the exist. Besides the entrance gate were the first security post and there are other three security post on all other three sides. There are Sheds randomly placed at every point inside the compound for not many purpose, so students and teachers usually used the Shed as their quiet place.

Then there is the biggest facility called The 'Tactical ground', located at the far end opposite of the Gate. Next to it is the 'Tactical Stadium', then the 'Infusion Building 'and ends the line of continuous vertically arranged building from the back-end with the 'Lesson Building' being at the fore-front. 

A wide free space lies before the lesson Building then a road to the 'Library' and 'Maze Garden' lies ahead. Then at the space in the middle point of the Academy was a road with a combined space for 'Parks, Fountains and Gardens' and after that was the 'Open ground' where sports and types of performing arts have each of their own ground and is considered the second largest next to the Tactical Ground. Besides those were the dormitory-

The boys and girls dormitory are at the opposite far end on the left and right corners of the compound. But their formations and placements were all the same. 

The Royal and The Duke's Children Dormitory were separated with a wall from Grade 1, 2 and 3 dorm. The Royal and Duke's children do need to change their dorm for the whole of 6 years. But Grade 1,2 and 3 would require to shift their dorm once their Grade is over. 

Grade 1- 3 years period

Grade 2- 2 years period

Grade 3- 1 year period

Amara decided to head for the Library.

The main characters would surely venture on the Populated grounds like Open Ground, Parks etc. 

The Girl's dorm was on the right end side of the compound while The Boy's dorm was on the Left end side of the compound. The maze garden was close to the girl's dorm while the Library was close to the boy's dorm. 

Amara and Clara came across many students along the way. All Grades students were present. And that was also when Amara realised that she was quiet tall compared to most of the Grade 1 students and with other Grades combined. 

"Oho~Clara, I'm like a tower!"

Giggling while looking at Clara, Amara levelled her height with her hands above her head and sneakingly compared her height with the other girls coming on their way. 

"Seriously though did The Duke and The Duchess employed tall maids and butlers at our home? I thought I'm also just an average height here with 5'6. But Clara, you are still taller than me! Tsk!"

Clara let out a small laugh, looking at Amara who was sulking at her because of their height difference. Clara was about one inch taller than Amara. But Amara was right about her height, the average height of the girls at the academy was 5'4-5'5. 

"You are only 15, My Lady. You have more room to grow, I'm sure of it" 

"Ah Yes! Just watch me tower you too, Clara!"

Amara was talking to Clara and walking backwards as she dissed Clara happily. 

It was then Amara bumped on a body with her back, letting the other person fall with a thud. 

"Shit! I'm so sorry"

 Amara apologised at the fragile boy with Blonde hair and help him up, he was about the same height as Clara. She believed the average height of the boys she came across were 5'8-6'0. But Amara shrugged off her thought, she also did met boys of her height too.

But the blonde hair boy was really beautiful. Not handsome, yes. He has a small physics and wear specs too. Looking extremely nerdy and beautiful as of those bottom boys in BL manhwa. Amara immediately find a soft spot for him in her heart.

"It's okay. My Lady", The boy gave her a beautiful smile, brushed his clothes with his hands and started walking away. 

It was also the way Amara was heading. And soon they find themselves both at the entrance of the Library. 

Amara laughed. She already registered the blonde boy as a cute little small rabbit in her mind. 

"My lord, we've met again", Amara playfully joked and give him a little bow. 

The boy after a laugh, decided to gave her the same bow. 

"Indeed, My Lady"

"Are you also here to read books?", The boy asked to which Amara nodded immediately.

"But I've never expected the library to be this huge", Amara explained in awe, looking at the huge tower of shelves lined up before her, she believed them to be at least 10 ft tall. How are they supposed to grab those in the upper sections exactly? 

Seeing the clueless expression on Amara, the boy smiled and decided to enlighten the Grey haired child.

"I was here yesterday. If you look at the ground before each shelves. There's a table each to stand before. The shelf's books each have number tags on them and on the table, you would see numbers aligned in order. Exactly as they were in the shelves. You just have pressed them"

The boy step forward to the closest shelf and show Amara the words written on the side of the shelf. 

"It is written, 'The beginning of Renatus', here. So this shelves would contain anything that have to do with this title"

"Oh~", Amara nodded in awe. She too step forward excitedly and walk past the boy to stood before the table in front of the said shelf and found the numbers written on them as explained by the boy. Also the title of the books were written underneath their numbers. She curiously pressed the Number 1 button and the book was hanged down with a black thread on it. Amara went to took the book which was hanging down at the level of her waist and bring the book to the table. 

"Is this Magic?", She bluntly speaks but looking at the thread attached to the book. It also looks like some machinery works. The thread was also limited to reach the table only. Not any further. 

"It is and It is not. The thread is made with infused magic. It is designed so that it is sturdy like steel but flexible like a thread. It could only be cut with magic and attached with magic but it has a specific cutting infused magic tool. So, anything that cut the thread without that tool would alert the librarians within seconds ", the boy came to her side and explained. At this point, Amara was truly impressed by the knowledgeable blonde boy. 

Caught off guard by Amara's admiring eyes staring straight at him. The boy cough in panic.

"T-The desk is also made with Infused mana, all the strings are coordinated to the book by magic. But the strings attached from the book to the table is pulled by a puller machine which then let the book drop down", He explained farther with a little pressure of embarrassment he felt from Amara's intent gaze. 

"Wow! Thank you, My friend. Which Grade are you again?"

"Grade 1?"

"Same! But which year?"

"First year"

"Same!" 

Amara couldn't hold her excitement and Clara have to suffer Amara's repeated slap on her left arm. 

"Well, well, well~ I believed I'd be regular on the library. Why don't we become library buddies! I'm Amara Wavern. What's yours, my friend?"

Hearing her last name, the boy was shocked. He remembered hearing rumours about The Duke of Oriens only daughter's unruly characters. Were the rumours wrong? After personally meeting her, he felt a little guilty judging her by the rumours when she is just a cheerful and weird kid. 

The boy gave her a light laugh. Amara was confused which part of her words were funny but she brushed her thoughts off and waited for the boy to speak. 

"I apologise for being easily convinced by such rumours. My name is Theo Benatte, the third prince. of Renatus. Pleasure to be your friend, Lady Amara" 

Although Theo charmingly smiled at her. Amara after hearing his name, felt like a stone just got smashed on her head. 

"Lady Amara?"

Theo called for her. The girl looks like she is out of the world and was about to collapse soon. 

"U-Um..."

Should she run away again? It actually might be the 'Story' itself which always lead her to the main characters. She did resolved her thoughts about the possibility of meeting the main characters being unavoidable. But she just asked Prince Theo, the cursed Prince and one of the main characters, in the sea of other students, to be her friend.

"I understand if you decided to retract your thought on befriending me. After all, I am the legendary cursed Prince", Prince Theo gave her an awkward chuckle.

Hearing him talked as if he had experienced rejections many times. Amara gave out a loud defeated sigh

"No, I-It's not like that, Prince Theo"

Looking at the petite and ill-fated cursed Prince's reactions and words. Amara gave in to the pang! of guilt in her heart and finally decided to gave him a warm smile. 

"Let us be good friend, Prince Theo. I'm looking forward to it"

Prince Theo was one of the main characters that was against the MC. He was the one that has seen through the Mc's cunning characters and endless trick. Feeling Leon was up to no good, he was keeping an eye on Leon and even help Ina one time. 

Watching as Prince Theo waved her off happily. Amara's heart finally rest. As long as she don't get directly involved with Leon, she better be alright.

"You know what, Clara?. The male lead would be nothing without the help of the other characters. Why do I feel like, I want to stand against the Male lead? I never really liked him anyway. Should I give it a try?", Clara turned to look at Amara who seems to plot something in her mind with a creepy smile. She could only sigh once again.

Ina was looking out from Leon's room window. Her gaze fixed on the Huge Library. She really wished to enter the library again. During her time at the academy before she regressed, she went to the library once with Leon and that was the last. She remembered those magnificent shelves of books that would supposedly contain all the knowledge she wished to learn. The Royal Library couldn't even compare to the The Magic Academy's library and only the Magic Academy library contains Magical study Books. The books, she and Leon bought from the merchant was just a hand-copy and it was written by a person who wrote from what he had remembered after reading the books from the Magic Academy's Library.

Ina knew she would regret coming to the Academy as a Maid eventually. She would only be able to enter the library with Leon by her side since students are only allowed entry and maid's are allowed only if they came with them. 

She sighed and shifted her gaze over to the vast fields and roads. There she saw Leon, who was dragging his feet towards the dorm, limping a little.

She remembered, that day, Hector and Leon played a football match on opposing teams. Hector was an athletic person and after hearing about who Hector is, he without any experience in sports, jumped in the field and got injured by Hector. And that's how Leon managed to befriend Hector and their friendship slowly bloomed from here. But Ina knew their friendship would eventually end and Hector is an upright and righteous person, so she don't mind their friendship to bloomed once more.

But as she shift her gaze back at the Library, she then saw Amara and her maid, leaving the Library. They were a few meters away from Leon. But this, Leon and Amara's friendship is the last thing she ever wanted. She took a sharp breathe and immediately run down the stairs from the 6th floor.

"Well! That's a given. I forgot about the Academy bracelet. It's the bracelet that Identifies the students, also a tracking device to track the students whereabouts if necessary"

Amara was once again spreading her knowledge of the world to Clara.

Amara is actually very happy to have Clara by her side. For some reason, she believes Clara would not tell anyone about her words. She finds herself trusting Clara more each day and she kind of feel lonely sometimes for being an alien to this world. Also she really needs to relieve her thoughts out sometimes, she's a professional chatter.

As she was deep on her thoughts, it took a second look for Amara to witnessed the danger that was approaching her.

"Ah! Speak of the devil!", The limping Leon was a few metres away from her.

She took a 90 degree turn immediately and had her back faced Leon. Clara cluelessly copied her movements and now they are both back at facing the Library. 

"My Lady?"

"We went that side, Clara. We avoid the beast" 

Amara whispered to Clara and they both started walking back at the Library again. 

"Ah! Ina?!", Amara gasped, seeing Ina running towards them.

"What is this mess!", Amara hissed under her breathe, both Leon and Ina are closing up to her from both sides. 

"Fuck it all!", Irritated by her continuous situations, Amara breathe a huge lump of air and fasten her pace towards Ina, grabbing Ina's wrist and pulled her inside the Library.

'If it's between them, I choose Ina!', was Amara's last thought before doing what she did. But was it really necessary? Maybe Ina was running to help Leon?

"W-What are you doing?!", Ina immediately shoved Amara's hands away. She was on her way to hijacked Leon away from Amara but she was hijacked by Amara instead?

Amara also realised her stupid reaction. Thinking back at their circumstances, she was sure, Ina was on her way to help Leon who got injured by Hector. It was just her who felt cornered by the main characters. 

"Hahaha! I remember you!", Amara awkwardly gave Ina a loud laugh, saying anything that comes to her mind at the moment. But Ina was glaring at her as if she had already done something terrible to her. 

"Y-You know! I... I don't have any friends to roam the library with. Would you like to look around with me?", Amara mentally apologised to Prince Theo. 

"I'm sorry, My lady. I'm just a lowly maid. I don't have the qualification to be your friend. If you please excuse me.", Ina loved to say 'yes' to Amara's proposal if it was just anybody else except her. She also did just hijacked her away from Leon. Maybe Amara already started plotting all of that and set a trapped for her. Amara is the last person she would trust.

Ina was about to pull the library door but was struck by the thought that Leon might still be limping across the Library at that time. 

Seeing Ina's hesitation to open the door, Amara remembered the line from the original story, 'Ina wished to stay at the library longer, that moment she regretted coming to the Academy as a maid for the first time'. She had screenshot those lines happily, thinking the Female Lead is going to start doing something for herself and wake up like Hector. But the female lead was dumb and naive till the last chapters she read.

From her reader's perspective, Amara then speak thoughtfully to Ina.

"Ina, live for yourself. Please, you deserve so much more"

Amara was dazed for a while until It was too late to realise she was not just a reader anymore!

Ina was slowly turning her head around and with every seconds Amara's heart was beating at a wild pace.

"I don't remember telling you my name, My lady?"
