Chapter 7:Fight

Voltrix Tyrant — the thunder-forged spear — emerged fully charged with lightning which Isegi owns.

Isegi stood at the center of the battlefield, smoke rising around her, eyes locked on a Zypser that growled in mechanical static. She raised the spear, lightning wrapping around it like a coiling serpent, crackling in the air.

"Tempest Surge!" she roared, her voice cutting through the chaos.

She hurled the spear with all her might. The moment it connected, it erupted in a violent explosion of energy. Lightning spiraled outward in every direction. The Zypser's metal frame convulsed before it was torn apart, limbs scattering like debris in a storm.

Sparks lit up the battlefield. Thunder rolled. Smoke and dust were blown away by the sheer power of the attack. The ground beneath the mech's feet cracked, unable to contain the raw energy discharged.

Kaito, watching from HQ, flinched.

Kaito: Ugh… why did she even use that attack? It's too dangerous for her mech.

Aika stood behind him, arms crossed.

Aika: Wait, what did you just say? Why is that cool attack bad for her mech?

Kaito turned toward him, clearly frustrated.

Kaito: That attack — Tempest Surge — it drains 60 to 70 percent of her mech's energy. It's like cutting her own power cord just to win one fight.

Aika: What the hell… I need to go help her right now.

Kaito: Yeah, you're right. But this isn't the right time. I'll let you know when she truly needs it. Rai and Kaien will go with you.

Aika: I'm ready whenever you say.

At the battlefield

Isegi didn't stop. She charged at another Zypser, still running on fumes of adrenaline and rage. Her mech's fist connected with the enemy's chest, denting the armor. The Zypser swung back with brutal force, sending shockwaves through her systems.

She stumbled, then caught sight of her spear lying nearby — glowing faintly, still humming with electricity. Without hesitation, she dashed toward it, picked it up, and launched herself into the air.

She spun mid-flight and drove the spear down into the second Zypser's head. Sparks burst like fireworks as the enemy collapsed beneath her.

Before she could recover, her sensors screamed. A third Zypser appeared behind her, its half-robotic arm transforming into a glowing blade. The energy around it pulsed with intensity.

In a blink, it slashed forward.

The hit landed directly, slamming into her mech and sending it flying through the air. She crashed into the ground, metal screeching and plates ripping apart. She groaned, struggling to sit upright inside the rattling cockpit.

The Zypser launched a barrage of missiles.

Isegi's mech rolled aside. A few explosions went wide, but several struck their target. Her mech's frame rattled under the impact, warning lights blinking red across her display. A large hole opened in her chest armor. Vital systems were failing.

She gritted her teeth and stood again. Her eyes locked onto the enemy preparing a beam shot.

The beam launched — and she sidestepped it with perfect timing. The ground where she stood seconds ago was now a molten crater.

She rushed in, caught the Zypser's blade arm mid-swing, and broke it apart with a crushing spear strike. Shards of its weapon rained around her. Then, without pause, she rammed the spear into the Zypser's core. It twitched violently before dropping dead.

As it fell, her mech scanned incoming projectiles.

Multiple Zypsers were locking on. Missiles fired from every direction.

The sky darkened as explosions landed across her body. Her mech shook violently. Energy levels dropped to zero. The system died. Silence filled the cockpit.

The hatch popped open, and Isegi stumbled out, bleeding from her forehead, her breath shaky.

Isegi: Is this really the end for me…? coughs

She looked up. The Zypsers were advancing, step by heavy step.

At HQ

Kaito stared at the monitors, dread sinking in.

Kaito: Something's not right, Ai—

He turned.

Kaito: Wait… where did he go?

He looked again.

Kaito: Rai and Kaien are missing too?

Suddenly, red alarms lit up the entire control room.

"Now launching: Hawkvane Eon, Stardiver Scion, and Arthris T-86."

Three mechs shot into the air, blue thrusters lighting up the sky.

In the air, Aika unsheathed his scythe. Sparks flew as he spun it with ease, ready for war.

The slammed onto the battlefield like meteors. Aika landed first. Without hesitation, he swung his scythe horizontally and sliced a Zypser clean in half.

Aika: Taste this scythe, you ugly bastard.

The broken pieces of the Zypser fell at his feet.

Kaien arrived next, calm and precise. He drew his rifle, locked onto a Zypser's core, and fired multiple shots in rapid succession. The enemy staggered, then exploded.

Rai followed, his hands transforming into large metallic claws. He tackled a Zypser head-on, slashing furiously. Sparks flew as he cut deep into its metal flesh.

The Zypser punched him back, sending him skidding.

Kaien: Rai, the chest. Aim for the core.

Rai: Got it.

With a roar, Rai charged again. He pierced the Zypser's chest, ripped out the core, and crushed it in his hand.

Aika stepped forward and planted his scythe into the ground.

Aika: Let's take them down, guys.

Isegi, still on the ground, looked up and smiled faintly.

Isegi: Thanks… for saving me.

A rescue ship touched down. Medics rushed toward her as the battle raged behind.

Three Zypsers remained, and they were not retreating.
