Far beyond the world Sid was training in, deep within the folds of the void, two figures floated in silence.
Avi's scarlet eyes flickered with concern as she stared at the sealed vortex below, the only entrance to the mysterious trial realm Sid had entered.
"It's been five days..." she murmured, her voice tight.
Silver stood beside her, arms folded. Unlike Avi, he wore a calm expression, but his gaze remained fixed on the dark swirl of energy below.
"He'll come back." Silver said in confidence.
Avi didn't reply. Her fingers clenched slightly.
Then suddenly, the passage reappeared.
In the next breath, it twisted violently and spat something out.
A body.
Sid.
He emerged from the rift and fell unconscious on the ground.
No wounds. No gashes. No broken bones.
And yet, he was drenched in blood.
His clothing hung in tatters, soaked dark red. His face was slack with exhaustion, and his hand still loosely gripped the hilt of his battered sword.
He wasn't injured.
He was just asleep.
Silver narrowed his eyes. "Looks like he went through hell."
Avi let out a breath she didn't realize she was holding, then smiled faintly. Her eyes glistened. "Thank the stars..."
Joy. Relief. And a hollow ache at the thought of what Sid must have endured inside.
She was about to rush toward him—
"Don't. Keep your distance and act casual."
A voice echoed in their minds.
Both of them froze.
Dante.
Silver immediately moved in front of Avi, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Wait. Sid's training isn't over."
Avi frowned. "What? What are you talking about? He just came back. He needs help!"
"Dante," she said through voice transmission, "what's going on?"
Dante's voice responded, calm but firm.
"Someone's watching us. I didn't tell you earlier, so it would think we're unaware."
Silver stiffened slightly. He knew what that meant.
"Dante... is this that place?" he asked.
"Yes."
A chill ran through both of them.
Avi's expression darkened. "Then Sid could be in danger! Don't tell me you're planning to let him find it?!"
Dante's tone didn't change.
"Of course. If he can get through it, I believe the harvest will be immense."
Avi's fists trembled. "If not?! What if he dies inside?!"
Silver interrupted softly, reminding, "Avi. He said act casual. If that thing senses something off..."
She gritted her teeth but didn't speak further.
In the silence that followed, the three watched Sid float unconsciously in the void.
He looked so small. So unknowing.
Yet something had changed.
There was weight in his presence now. Not in aura, but in something... deeper.
"Don't worry," Dante said finally. "If things get out of hand, I'll handle it. Just observe. Act only if necessary."
Then, the connection went silent.
And so they waited.
Floating. Watching. Unmoving.
While far below them, Sid slept peacefully.
Unaware of the eyes still watching.
