Chapter 6 "First Mini-Game (Part 3)"

This made others look at Ray, who raised his head in puzzlement. "What? I'm preparing for the second wave."

Dustin's eyes widened in doubt. "Where did you get that sword? Did you picked it from the pile of bones? And that armor, it really is the one those skeletons were wearing."

Ray shrugged. "Yes! So what? You didn't need this, did you?" He then tried to point his sword towards Dustin, who declined in a cold tone.

"I don't need those filthy things; they are too weak for me to use," Dustin said with a mocking smile on his lips. "Only a garbage guy like you needs such things."

In return Ray chuckled, "Hope you don't need a help from this weak garbage guy later."

"HAHA-HAHA," Alex like a loyal dog jumped in conversation, "Ray, you should speak with some respect. If not for Dustin, you would have left alone with any team to even step foot here."

Ray was really amused by Alex and his skills to please others. He even forgot their years-old friendship for Dustin, all because Dustin had more resources and was influential.

"You two stop!" Hana spoke. She could clearly see Alex provoking Ray, but before she could say anything further, Dustin decided to take back all the attention.

"We have wasted our precious time on irrelevant things. Let's forget all of it and focus on our next attack."

Dustin wasn't a simple guy. He was a clever guy who knew that the more attention on him, the less attention Ray would get, and this was enough to embarrass Ray by isolating him in front of his own friends.

But to Ray, it doesn't matter. Before the launch of 'Apex Survival, he hardly had any contact with them.

After college, Fiona ghosted him. Alex moved to another country. Hana joined a new college for higher studies. Aaliyah never had a proper talk with him, and Rohan moved back to his hometown.

With that, he was left alone, and slowly everyone got busy in their own lives, except for Ray. So, the current situation didn't bother him when he had so much to think about his own skills.

Time passed, and the counting was now in seconds.

With the pop-up notification, the tremor came once more, this time with a greater range than before. Then, like last time, the ground began to crack, and skeletons crawled out from it.

This time, there was a slight difference than before. Unlike last time, when Skeleton soldiers were empty-handed with only worn-out leather armor, this time they had swords in their hands, just like the one Ray had.

Ray subconsciously looked at his sword, then at the sword in the Skeleton's hand. "They look identical," he murmured, but stayed calmly at the back.

He could see that Dustin was well prepared, but still, he had a feeling that sooner or later, they would need his help. Until then, he'd just watch the show from the backseat.

Soon the fight broke out and they attacked in a same pattern. The only difference was that, Aaliyah had taken out the low-level bow from her inventory and Fiona had a steel sword.

The same type of sword was in Dustin's hand, which makes only three of them having a weapon, other than Ray.

Rohan exclaimed, "Wait! You guys have weapons? Why didn't you tell us to get one?"

"Because we thought you would have one already," Fiona spoke in a nonchalant tone, her focus on the incoming skeleton.

More than dozens of skeletons crumbled on the ground due to Dustin and Fiona's trap. Those who succeeded in avoiding the trap met with Hana's elemental beast, cutting their numbers even with more rapid speed.

But the numbers were still higher and unlike the previous skeleton soldiers, these were even evading the attacks with their sword.

Alex chuckled in amusement, "Let them come, It's time to let them know what Gale Fist's are." He waited for his chance, and soon, the first skeleton crossed all the hurdles and came closer.

"BOOM"

Alex swings his fist and in one punch, dozens of skeletons shattered one after another.

Like a mad man, he depleted all of his Qi and shattered more skeletons, leaving only two who somehow remained unharmed.

Oblivious to his situation, Alex swings with full force, knowing only 9 skeletons were remained. Two in front of him and seven at the back of the two who got destroyed by Hana's elemental pet and Aaliyah's bow.

"Thud"

"AAHAAAAAA"

"CRACK!"

"CRACK!"

His mana depleted and the gale fist couldn't manifest when he landed a full force punch on the head of the skeleton. The moment his hand came into contact with the skeleton head, two cracked voice resounded.

First a little chunk of skeleton's skull and all four of his fingers, with his wrist bone, which now was snapped into two.

 "AAHAAAAAAHHHHH"

His cries panicked others. When Ray saw this, he mocked at the stupidity, "Fool."

But he still didn't moved as Hana's pet had already dealt with the other seven and before the sword of skeleton would cleaved Alex in two, her elemental beast cracked the skull of remaining two Skeletons.

[Second Wave ended]

[Third and final Wave starts in 3 hr : 58 min]

The second wave ended, but not the cries of Alex, who had tears in his eyes. The game had made all emotions feel real, so much so that you'd feel even the slightest pain from an ant bite, making the pain of broken bones unbearable, just like in reality.

Dustin shook his head in frustration. Seeing Alex's excitement, he had advised him not to play recklessly, but Alex still couldn't resist and made a fool of himself.

"Although our mana and health will replenish when we're in a safe zone or at a moment like this, I still doubt that broken bones will heal in such a short time." Dustin cursed Alex inwardly for such recklessness; now they had lost a member who had direct offensive skills.

Ray, on the sidelines, began collecting the broken bones, bony swords, and leather armors, ignoring Alex, who was crying like a madman.

Ray was busy in his thing when Aaliyah with a disdain tone, spoke. "Here we are concerned about Alex, and he is still busy in collecting those garbage."

Ray chooses to ignore her. He was type of guy who would let dogs bark, unless they cross a certain line.

Dustin spoke, "Let him be, not he can actually take anything from the mini-game to the outside. Those garbage he has collected will be soon gone once he'll exit the mini-game."

Dustin knew many things about the game what Ray or others didn't knew. This made Ray questioned, if what he is doing is really worthless when he got a new notification.
