I obeyed him. I sat on the bed.
Then he stood up and looked at me.His silver eyes gleamed, and I couldn't help myself from blushing.
He spoke with that soothing voice of his " you choose to break the curse". I looked at him, and replied "I did" knowing fully well I haven't made upmy mind. He replied"you are still doubting me". I looked at him in shock, and I finally spoke"how did you find out.
He spoke"i spent so long in sorrow and pain,I know how to read emotions".
I didn't know what to say, and I blurted out " is that good or bad." He replied it's good right now, but when the time for pain and sorrow comes it won't be.
But we can stop that right. We can break it,together as a team.
He looked at me with fear. I gave him a reassuring look.
He asked where he was, I told him he was in the palace.
He asked to leave.
Turns out the Cursed princes all have mansions and money waiting for them till the time they are awaken.
I begged him to have an audience with my mum, grandma, and dad.
He hesitated at first, buy eventually agreed.
I was pleased.
He wanted to go to his mansion first to secure his fortune.
The forest grew darker as we rode, the trees older, taller, and closer than any i had seen before ,ancient sentinels with twisted roots and bark that looked like scars.
"Are you sure this place exists?" I asked with a worried look .
Daemon glanced over his shoulder, the corner of his mouth twitching with the faintest smirk.
"Only two people have ever seen it," he said. "One of them is dead. The other is riding in front of you."
The horses came to a stop at a narrow stone archway hidden beneath hanging ivy. Beyond it, a cobbled path stretched into shadow — lined with statues that had no eyes and runes carved into their chests.
"This way," he said, dismounting.
I followed him on foot, heart quickening. The deeper we went, the colder the air became , but not lifeless cold. It felt… still. Preserved. As if time had stopped here long ago.
Then I saw it.
Rising from the mist like a ghost: a mansion carved into the side of the cliff, half buried in vines and rock, its windows glowing faint gold from within. A forgotten palace ,regal, somber, and proud.
"Daemon," I breathed. "What is this place?"
He stood beside me, eyes fixed on it.
"It's everything I've ever owned," he said. "Gold. Artifacts. Books. Magic. My family's true legacy ,untouched by the curse because it's hidden from the world."
He led her through the tall iron doors that creaked open without a key. Inside, the mansion was quiet, but not dead. Fires lit themselves as they passed, and chandeliers flickered to life overhead. Tapestries hung with forgotten symbols. Portraits stared down from the walls ,his ancestors, all bearing the same silver eyes.
In the grand hall, treasure glittered , chests of gold, ancient armor, and scrolls sealed in crystal. But Daemon didn't stop to show it off. He led her to the library, where rows of bookshelves stretched to the ceiling, filled with secrets the world had long buried.
"This isn't just wealth," Emilia whispered. "It's knowledge. Power."
"It's proof," Daemon said. "That we weren't just cursed monsters. My bloodline built empires. Discovered magic. Loved deeply. Lost everything."
He turned to her, eyes soft now , not glowing, just real.
"I never brought anyone here. I was afraid if I did… it would vanish. Like a dream."
I stepped toward him slowly, her voice low.
"And now?"
"Now," he said, "I want you to see it. Because if I die tomorrow, I want you to know I was never just a curse. I was something worth remembering."
I didn't know why but I reached out and touched his face.
"You still are."Those words came out of my mind. Since when I met him I always had a feeling of deep connection.
I was starting to like him. I let him confide in me.
For the first time, Daemon smiled. Not the sad, broken kind i always saw in the dream, but something warm. Almost boyish. Almost… free.
Outside, the mist swirled. But inside, for the first time in centuries, the mansion breathed, alive again.
While he was freshening up I went to the library. And I saw a book shining. It was very little. I took it and saw something "how to erase the curse". Immediately,I opened it.
