A Safe Haven.
Finally, Samantha gave Sarah a ride home on her motorcycle. When they arrived, she invited Sarah inside and let her sit on the living room sofa. After that, she ran upstairs to grab her laptop and a USB drive, then came back down and opened her laptop on the table. After checking the email with the documentation from the system, she saved everything to the USB and gave it to Sarah.
"Um... what's this, sis?" Sarah asked.
"This is all the data on the fraud committed by those five guys and everything your professor did. Turns out, you weren't the first, but you're the last person to deal with him. Take this to the police when you report everything tomorrow," Samantha explained.
"B-but what if Dad finds out I was treated like this and it ends up tarnishing the family name?" Sarah asked.
"I'm sure your dad will understand. You're a victim. This is for justice, so no one else becomes a victim of that professor or those five con artists, you have to be brave, go to the police and tell them everything," Samantha replied.
"A-alright, but... I'm sorry if I'm asking too much, but could you come with me to the police and to Dad tomorrow?" Sarah asked.
"Haaaah... okay, I'll go with you tomorrow," Samantha replied, ruffling her hair.
"Thank you, sis," Sarah said, seemingly a little relieved.
"You should sleep here tonight; it's already late," Samantha replied.
"Yeah, sis. I'm sure Derek's at my apartment right now," Sarah replied.
"I know. Of course I know him. He's stubborn, and if he hasn't let out his emotions, he'll find a way to explode," Samantha replied.
"But I just found out Derek has two older sisters. I only knew he had one, and he always talked about having an older brother as a family shame because he had a strange illness, an allergy to women," Sarah said.
Samantha paused for a moment and looked at Sarah. She leaned back into the couch she was sitting on, then crossed her arms, clearly not happy to hear what Sarah knew about Derek's older brother.
"I'm the twin of Derek's older brother named Samuel... What else did he tell you?" Samantha asked, staring at Sarah.
"Nothing else, sis. I never asked anything further because I wasn't interested," Sarah replied.
"Hmm, okay (she observed Sarah for a moment). You seem honest. Alright, no need to talk about it anymore," Samantha said.
"Okay, sis," Sarah replied.
"Let's go to bed. You'll sleep in the guest room, okay?" Samantha replied, standing up and stretching her arms.
"Yeah, sis, over there?" Sarah asked, pointing to a door in front of them.
"Yeah, just go straight in, okay? I'm going upstairs first," Samantha replied.
"Yeah, sis. Thank you so much for helping me," Sarah replied, her eyes welling up.
Samantha watched Sarah, who was now looking at her with immense admiration and trust. Samantha smiled and nodded, then walked up the stairs to her room. When she reached her room, she immediately checked her smartphone on the bed and saw a message from Melissa. After reading it,
"Huh... about me and Samuel? Samuel and I are the same person."
Then she read the follow-up message, sent only five minutes after the previous one.
"How are you, sis? Please let me know. I have to tell you everything about you, Samuel, Dad, Mom, and Grandma. I can't keep this to myself anymore."
"Huh... about Mom and Grandma too? What does she really want to talk about? Alright... since I'm curious, I'll reply (she thought). Tomorrow's definitely out because I have to go with Sarah. Okay, day after tomorrow it is." Samantha decided.
Then she replied to the message, "Okay, we'll meet up the day after tomorrow at the cafe between your house and Dad's office." That's what the message said, and three dots immediately appeared below. Not long after, a reply came. "Okay, 10 AM," Melissa replied via message. After that, Samantha put her smartphone on the table. Then she stood up to change into more comfortable clothes for sleeping.
After that, she lay on her bed and stared at the ceiling. She glanced at her smartphone for a moment, then looked back at the ceiling.
"Hey, System."
[How can I help you, sir?]
"What's your name? It feels weird calling you 'System'," Samantha replied.
[Happy Death System, sir.]
"Too long. Anything else?" Samantha asked.
[HDS]
"All dead letters. Hard to call out," Samantha replied.
[Nothing else, sir.]
"Can I name you?" Samantha asked.
[Gladly, please do, sir.]
Samantha thought, her hand rising to her chin, though her eyes remained fixed on the ceiling. "Happy... Death... System," she murmured, thinking. "Ha... De... S," she suddenly smiled broadly.
"Okay, your name is Hades, like the god of underworld who lives in Tartarus," Samantha said.
[Alright, from today forward, please call me Hades.]
"Sweet, nice to meet you, Hades," Samantha said.
[Why are you saying "nice to meet you" to me, sir?]
"Because yesterday you didn't have a name, and now you do, so 'nice to meet you again', you're hopeless," Samantha replied.
[Alright, nice to meet you, sir.]
"Now that's more like it. Nice to meet you... please don't give me quests like that again, and please remember my trauma," Samantha said.
[I can't promise that, sir.]
"Huh... what do you mean?" Samantha asked, sitting up on her bed.
[Even though I have a name now, my purpose remains the same, so I cannot make that promise, sir.]
"Grrrrr... that's terrible. Fine, just don't give me sudden quests like that, and if possible, only once a month," Samantha replied.
[I can arrange that, sir.]
"Alright, thank you," Samantha replied, lying back down on her bed.
[You're welcome, sir. Happy to help.]
Suddenly, "knock... knock." Samantha immediately got up and off the bed, hearing a knock on her door. She opened it and saw Sarah standing behind the door.
"Um... sis, I'm sorry, but can I borrow some clothes?" Sarah asked.
"Oh... that's right. Come in and please shower first. I'll get you a towel in a minute," Samantha replied, opening the door wide and inviting Sarah in.
Sarah entered the room. Samantha then got a set of clothes and a towel, then called Sarah to come closer. After that, she gave everything to Sarah and opened the bathroom door for her. Sarah's eyes widened, seeing the luxurious bathroom hidden behind a closet.
"Um... can I really using your shower, sis?" Sarah asked hesitantly.
"Please do. I'm going to shower after this too; we rode a motorcycle earlier, so we're full of dust and exhaust," Samantha replied.
"Want to shower together?" Sarah asked.
"Huh... no, let's just do it separately," Samantha replied.
"Alright, thank you again, sis," Sarah replied.
As soon as Sarah went in and closed the door, Samantha pondered in front of the bathroom door. She looked down at her body.
"My body is indeed female, but my heart is male, and showering with a beautiful girl like Sarah would ruin my mental state again, so it's better not to," Samantha thought to herself.
[You'll never get married if you keep thinking like that, sir.]
"Shut up," Samantha replied.
