Danzo sat in the Root medical chamber, barely holding back the rage boiling inside him. His face was wrapped in bandages.
...Well, more bandages. He looked like a certified mummy by now. His right eye—gone. His right arm—missing below the elbow. Blood had soaked through parts of the wrappings, and the pain was still sharp.
But it was nothing compared to the fury inside him.
Everything had happened so fast. One moment, he had been standing near the forest edge, holding Shisui Uchiha's Mangekyō Sharingan in his hand. He had just given the order—send the rest of the Root shinobi after Shisui and take the other eye.
Then—
In a blink, it all went wrong.
His hand was suddenly gone. Cut clean off. He didn't see a blade, didn't sense a jutsu. It was like the attack had come from thin air.
Before he could react, he heard the sickening sound of heads falling. Two of his personal guards—Root shinobi standing just behind him—were already dead. Beheaded in an instant.
Danzo spun around, heart pounding, and saw a single figure in the distance. The person wore a mask—black, with a red pattern—and their presence gave off an icy chill. But the figure didn't move closer. Didn't speak.
And then it happened again.
A sharp, invisible force slashed across Danzo's face, cutting deep into his cheek—and slicing through his remaining eye. Blood poured down his face, and his vision went dark.
He collapsed to the ground, helpless.
But the masked shinobi didn't kill him.
Instead, he walked up slowly, took Shisui's stolen Mangekyō from the ground, and vanished into the shadows.
By the time the rest of Root arrived, Danzo was barely conscious. They rushed him back to the base, applied emergency treatment, and tried to stop the bleeding.
Now, sitting alone with his wounds and shame, Danzo trembled with rage.
Whoever that masked shinobi was—he was skilled beyond anything he had faced before. Not to mention, now that Danzo thought about it, he could tell that the figure was much smaller. Like a child.
And most importantly—they had taken the very thing Danzo had sacrificed so much to get.
And worse than the pain was the insult. He had been spared. Mocked. Left alive without power.
Danzo clenched his jaw. His teeth were grinding.
He didn't have proof. There were no witnesses. No clear trail. But in his heart, he knew.
This was the Uchiha. Only they had that kind of power. That kind of hatred. And after what he did to Shisui, it made sense that one of them would strike back.
And one name stood out in his mind.
Itachi.
Who else in the village had that kind of skill and that small figure? It had to be Itachi. Itachi also had reason to attack him.
He attacked Shisui. It made sense why Itachi would attack him, but not kill him directly—instead just take Shisui's Mangekyō with him.
"Damn you, Uchiha."
He'd kill them all.
And while Danzo was cursing entire generations of Uchiha, one Itachi Uchiha, who was the main suspect of this loss Danzo took, was waiting for his best friend Shisui to show up.
But there was no sign of him. Only later would he learn that Shisui had died. Not even his body would be found. Everything had been turned into ashes.
And the 13-year-old boy would unlock his Mangekyō.
...
Swoop...
'Hmm?'
Swoop...
'Definitely it's working. Not my imagination.' Sukuna, just for his inner peace, checked it out multiple times before finally letting go of the sealing scroll he looted from the ANBU members.
At first, he thought those scrolls would be completely useless for him—for someone who can't use chakra—but just for fun's sake, he ended up giving it a try, pouring his cursed energy into the scroll.
To his surprise, the contents of the scroll magically appeared in front of him—not even any smoke, which is usually seen in the Naruto series. It was like those things just materialized out of nowhere.
Sukuna was dumbfounded. And since then, he let go of the mind-controlling Mangekyō he had just gotten his hands on to solve the mystery behind the scroll and why it worked for him.
"They work just like how it seems in the anime and manga, minus the smoke. Cursed energy is working just like chakra here in this scroll.
Then why can't I use Ninjutsu?
Or doesn't scroll and Fuinjutsu by extension work with just cursed energy?" There were thousands of questions in his mind. However, no answers.
With a reluctant sigh, for the time being, he just let go of the scrolls. Right now wasn't the time to dive deep into Fuinjutsu.
He had just completed the first part of the plan and now a big 'IF' stood in his way before knowing whether his plan would work—or it was all for nothing.
His plan revolved around Shisui's Kotoamatsukami ability. To acquire this eye, he had been spying on Danzo's movements for long—ever since he decided to go through with the plan.
He had no other choice. He wanted power.
As for how he spied—that was another one of his abilities. Cursed energy and negative emotions are internally linked.
While not the same thing, if a sorcerer can sense cursed energy, then sensing negative emotions for them is not that hard. He could do it too.
There were many in the village who had strong negative emotions in them. But no one came close to two individuals who stood out like a sore thumb in this village.
One was Naruto—or rather the Nine Tails inside Naruto. And the other was none other than Danzo Shimura.
Sukuna could sense him from pretty far. The moment he saw Danzo himself making a move, he knew Danzo was gunning for Shisui's Mangekyō. So, Sukuna naturally followed.
Back to the main topic—of course, the big 'IF' of his plan was whether he could transplant the Sharingan onto himself and use it.
Transplanting shouldn't be that hard—he was a medical student back on Earth. He had enough know-how on how to do it, at least in theory. Though he planned to go research a little more about human anatomy.
By all logic, the eye should connect and immediately start working like a normal eye. However, that wasn't what he was interested in. He had to know whether he could use their powers when he transplanted them.
He had no idea. Earlier he was just banking on his luck, and even if he failed, he could still be happy that Danzo wasn't getting his hands on these Mangekyō Sharingan.
However, the scroll incident had given him hope. If they really worked, then this plan could work.
"However, that all has to wait. Before even the plan begins, I have to first figure out reverse cursed technique," Sukuna muttered to himself with a sigh.
He can't just go visit Konoha hospital and ask a medic-nin to do the surgery on him. He'd be in Konoha prison in no time.
No—he had to do the surgery by himself, and for that he needed to have reverse cursed technique. That level of healing is required to undergo this level of surgery. Even if something goes wrong, he can at least heal himself and regrow his eye back.
"Easier said than done." Sukuna rolled his eyes. If reverse cursed technique was that easy, then someone like Satoru Gojo wouldn't have needed a sword to the heart and his neck cut open by Toji Fucking Zenin to learn it.
"However, due to having Ryomen Sukuna's memories, at least I'm not completely in the dark. Much better than Shoko Ieiri's 'Fui the Shio' explanation," Sukuna muttered with irritation.
A Jujutsu sorcerer's cursed techniques have a direct connection with his cursed energy and vice versa.
Like how Hajime Kashimo's cursed energy is electrifying in nature, all thanks to his cursed technique, Mythical Beast Amber...
One's cursed energy takes the attribute of their cursed technique over time. Like Jogo's would resemble fire and Dagon's would resemble water.
The transformation is not always so drastic, though. Sometimes it's small in nature—almost insignificant in others' eyes.
However, these small changes give a sorcerer insights.
Ryomen Sukuna also learned reverse cursed technique like this. His cursed energy was sharp and deadly, influenced by his cursed technique—like a razor blade or a sharp edge.
To learn reverse cursed technique, he tried to reverse the nature and flow of his cursed energy. From sharp and deadly to soft, protective, and guarding in nature.
'I'm gonna do it the same way. For me it's minor, but my cursed energy has also started to slowly take that sharp attribute like Ryomen Sukuna's after practising my slashes for a year.
From here on, I need to think of a way to reverse this flow. Somehow...'
