CHAPTER 46: FALL FOR ME AGAIN, EVEN IF YOU NEVER FORGOT;

Scene: Hospital Rooftop – A Week Later

Mek is finally discharged but still under observation.

He takes slow steps on the rooftop, needing air… needing distance.

And then—he sees him.

Pete.

Standing with a picnic basket, two iced coffees, and that damn crooked smile.

> "Don't worry. I asked the nurse for permission. I didn't break you out of the hospital… yet."

Mek sighs, heart aching.

He wants to smile. But he doesn't.

> "What are you doing here, Pete?"

Pete walks up, holding out one of the coffees.

> "Trying to make the man I love fall in love with me again. One latte at a time."

Cue Mek's internal screaming.

---

Scene: Day 2 – Memory Lane Game

Pete drags Mek to a random little café. But inside?

It's decorated with photo prints of their memories.

Secret snaps. Candid smiles. That one time Mek made Pete try strawberry boba and he nearly choked.

> Mek, stunned: "You… remembered all this?"

> Pete: "Of course. These were the days I started breathing."

Mek grips the table, eyes stinging.

---

Scene: Day 3 – The Piano Surprise

At sunset, Pete takes Mek to a small empty theater.

A single spotlight.

A piano.

Pete sits down and starts to play the melody… their song.

Mek watches from the shadows, fists clenched.

> "Stop it, Pete. Don't make me love you again."

Pete finishes, looks straight at him.

> "I don't care if you remember or not. I'm falling for you again every damn day."

---

Scene: Day 4 – The Slip

Pete walks Mek to his room.

They stand awkwardly at the door. Tension crackling.

> Mek: "You really think… doing all this will make me fall for you again?"

> Pete: "No."

> Mek: "Then why?"

> Pete (softly): "Because I never stopped."

And then—Mek leans in. Almost kisses him.

But pulls away.

> "Goodnight, Pete."

Pete's heart is breaking.

But Mek walks inside and clutches his chest.

> "Damn it… why are you making this harder?"

Scene: Alone — Mek's Thoughts

> "Every time he smiles like that, I want to run to him.

Every time he tries, I want to break and scream 'I REMEMBER EVERYTHING.'

But I can't. Because if I do… his father wins."
