Chapter 55: You Picked the Dare, Now Deal With It

[LUCAS – POV]

I didn't think she'd actually say yes.

When I dared Jasmine to kiss me in front of everyone during lunch, I expected her to roll her eyes, maybe toss her juice at me, or threaten to kill me after school. Normal stuff.

But instead, she stood up on the cafeteria bench like a damn goddess and said:

"You sure about that, Dare King?"

The room fell silent.

I smirked. "Only if you're not too scared, New Girl."

And then it happened.

She bent down, gripped the collar of my hoodie, and kissed me.

Hard.

There were gasps. Someone dropped their tray. I swear the janitor paused mid-mop like it was a movie scene.

And me?

I was completely wrecked.

She pulled back just enough to whisper, "Don't dare me unless you're ready to lose."

The girl was fire.

And I was willingly burning.

[JASMINE – POV]

I didn't plan to kiss him like that.

But something about the way Lucas looked at me—cocky, amused, challenged—lit a fuse inside me I didn't know I had.

So yeah, I kissed him.

But I didn't expect to like it as much as I did.

Now I was the one trying not to blush.

And Lucas?

He just leaned in and whispered, "I dare you to do that again."
