Generally speaking, gods prefer not to meddle too directly in mortal affairs. There are many reasons for this—some cautious, others purely for their own amusement—but mostly, after a few hundred thousand years and enough prayers to drown a planet, they tend to master the fine art of delegation. Fortunately, scattered among the common rabble are the exceptional few—those rare individuals with the spark to become Heroes.
Perfect pawns.
And so, the gods adopted a more hands-off approach.
Quasi Eludo had once been a Hero. He'd done it all—saved the world, returned home, and spent time reflecting on his grand magical adventure. It had been everything: spells and monsters, romance and danger, unbreakable bonds and tearful farewells. A lifetime’s worth of wonder—gone in a flash.
But it hadn’t been enough. It was never enough. He craved more. And where there's desire, there’s always a market. So he offered his services to the idle, indulgent gods.
