Either way, all these wouldn't benefit her in the slightest during combat.
And I wouldn't even want to copy any of the skills, there was simply nothing I could do with them.
My eyes locked on the prompt at the end of the ability list.
'It seemed the window can't display everything at once'
Ok, see more
[— Feral —]
[Sufficient Evolution Fragments, Can be evolved]
[— Vitalize —]
[Sufficient Evolution Fragments, Can be evolved]
[— Sense Of The Wild —]
[Sufficient Evolution Fragments, Can be evolved]
The ability list cleared away, and another set was displayed.
'Oh... So these are the class-specific ones.'
They were all Tier D, except one which seemed like a skill for heightened sense.
Since the system said they could be evolved, I was itching to know what tier I could upgrade them to before copying them.
A feeling of anticipation started welling up in me.
I looked down at Fieral, who was standing quietly in front of me, hands folded in front of her apron.
Her head tilted slightly to the side with a puzzled expression on her face.
'I bet she will be amazed when I evolve her skill.'
I went on to check the abilities' descriptions.
To evolve them, I needed to know how useful they would be in combat.
I couldn't just dump evolution fragments into any skills.
Like the housework skills, which were not worth investing in.
[— Feral —]
[Takes on the form of a great cat to deal damage with bleeds and bites. Absorb 50% damage dealt by enemies.]
'Fieral, Feral... such great similarity.'
I chuckled, clearly satisfied by the ability.
It was both a damage-dealing and tanking skill that allowed her to shape-shift into a great cat.
'As expected of a druid-class skill.'
I wondered what type of cat she would turn into, would it be a lion? A tiger?
Maybe a panther with glistening fur and glowing eyes.
'If one thinks about it from the view of tanking, tiger is probably the strongest big cat that can tank damage.'
[— Sense Of The Wild —]
[Enhances the user's instincts and perception, allowing them to detect nearby creatures, sense danger, and track movements like a wild beast.]
I didn't see anything special about this since her Physique Stat could be increased. By leveling up, all her physical attributes would improve including her perception.
[— Vitalize —]
[Channel powerful nature magic to regenerate and revitalize allies.]
This one was also great to have at one's disposal.
It was a healing ability, always essential when things got bloody.
I looked at Fieral. These abilities really made her a perfect combat maid.
'Just by evolving them, I could make her more powerful.'
At this thought, another window shimmered into my vision.
[Evolve — Vitalize — to Tier C with 150 evolution fragments?]
"Wait! Wait!"
I shouted out instinctively.
Such an amount of evolution fragments for just the next tier?!
The fuck was that!
Fieral's eyes widened in surprise. She looked up and asked gently,
"Master, is there something wrong with my outfit?"
I quickly shook my head, drew her closer, and petted her soft auburn hair.
"I'm trying to activate an ability. Just give me a moment, alright?"
Seeing her subtle nod, I concentrated on the matter at hand.
I thought about the transformation ability, that one could tank and also deal damage.
If I were to choose which one to evolve, I would easily go for that.
However, having a potent healing ability was also very useful in any battle one might face.
'She can tank, and with the little the [Vitalize] skill could do in battle, that was still okay, no?'
Just like healing damage, absorbing damage protects someone from grave injury, so I felt the two skills would complement each other in battle.
'I will just make sure not to get involved with something beyond our level.'
'Evolve [Feral] to Tier C.'
[Ding!]
[Evolving D-Tier Skill —FERAL — to Tier C.]
[Evolving....9%.....10%....50%....85%....]
A nervous sensation spun inside of me, and my heart beat increased with each passing second.
I relaxed my tense body. Compared to my unique skill, where there's a chance that a duplication wouldn't be successful, it wasn't the same case with the talent.
[95%.....]
[Ding!]
The chime made a bright smile beam on my face.
[Evolution Successful!]
[You Have Evolved The Target's Skill >
— FERAL—]
[— FERAL —]
Takes on the form of a great cat to deal damage with bleeds and bites. Absorb 70% damage dealt by enemies.
'Rank 2? The tank effect also increased.'
'Wait a minute…'
My eyes landed on the last prompt.
She would be able to transform any part of her body into that of a great cat.
'That will be nice.'
I turned to Fieral and immediately noticed something was off.
She seemed to be shaking, as if she had suddenly caught a fever.
"Fieral, what happened?!"
I narrowed my eyes. Just when I had finished evolving her ability, this happened?
Could it be the side effect of my talent?
"I-I feel hot all of a sudden…"
Beads of sweat started forming on her brow.
Her body trembled slightly from an unknown cold.
I placed my palm on her forehead to feel her temperature.
"Ouch!"
I quickly removed my hand.
The smell of burning flesh drifted into the air as I blew on my palm painfully.
"What is happening?!"
I shifted backward instinctively.
Fieral's body was suddenly bathed in a red glow, different from her usual aura, which was a warm purple.
This one flickered wildly, radiating intense heat waves that swept through the room like an invisible fire.
Beads of sweat trickled down my face, and the air itself felt heavy.
Her mouth parted slightly, revealing all her glinting canine teeth.
Then came the growl.
A low, guttural sound that echoed with something primal.
It wasn't just noise. It was intent.
A spine-chilling, territorial rumble that made my entire body tense up.
[Partial Transformation: Berserker Effect Activated]
The prompt made me come to a realization.
'She had subconsciously activated her [Partial Transformation].'
Somehow, even without activating my [Magic Sense], I could feel a powerful, crushing murderous intent from her.
'She doesn't seem herself…'
"Fieral!"
I shouted at the top of my voice.
Although my voice shook with fear, the thought of getting through to the real her made it loud and clear.
Then it happened.
Her body twitched, jerked, and in one motion, she collapsed on the floor.
