Chapter Five- First Meeting

Dante’s POV

I was watching her on the CCTV above the cage when it came time for her fight. The door to my office creaked open, and Lee strolled in.

"You're watching your little fighter," he said with a grin. I rolled my eyes.

Of course I was watching. I wanted to witness her victory with my own eyes.

As the fight began, I didn't take my gaze off her. At first, Sandy seemed to have the upper hand—unsurprising, since she's one of my strongest human fighters. I asked Rex to set up this match to test Rachel’s strength.

But in the next moment, she flipped the script.

Lee, lounging next to me, chuckled. "She's holding her own pretty well down there."

I watched as Rex helped her off the mat after she ended the match with a crushing final blow. I called him the moment he dropped her off at the locker room.

“Take her to my office. If she asks why, tell her I’ll explain.”

I smirked to myself, sensing the power hidden within her. She would make a perfect carrier—a powerful heir would be born through her.

Lee’s silver eyes glinted with amusement. “Have you finally been drawn to a woman again after all these years?”

I rolled my eyes. “I’ve had flings. But nothing long-term.”

Lee clapped me on the back with a sly smile. “Yeah, you’ve had relationships, but since your ex-wife, I haven’t seen you show this much interest in anyone.”

There was something captivating about her—maybe it was just because she was a carrier, or maybe something else entirely.

“Maybe you should get lost. They’ll be here any moment,” I said, gesturing toward the door.

Raising his hands in mock surrender, Lee chuckled. “Fine, fine. I’ll leave you to play with your little fighter.” He left, still laughing.

Rachel’s POV

I followed Rex through the club’s corridors, heading upstairs from the basement. We crossed the dance floor, then made our way to the VIP area. I felt like I’d been hit by a truck, but I kept pace as best I could. Tonight’s fight had been brutal—one of the toughest yet. I had truly thought I might lose.

Now, I was about to meet Dante Voss. My heart thudded with anxiety. What did he want from me?

“Don’t worry, I’ll be there,” Rex said softly. “How are you holding up?”

I gave him a quick smile. “Like a truck hit me. But I’ll live.”

It eased my nerves knowing Rex would be with me for the meeting.

When we reached a dark wooden door with a golden nameplate that read VOSS, Rex knocked. “It’s me, Mr. Voss. Rachel’s with me.”

A deep, smooth voice answered from the other side. “Enter.”

We stepped in. The man leaning against the desk was the most attractive man I’d ever seen. Tall and powerfully built, he had wavy white hair, hypnotic golden eyes, and wore a fitted black dress shirt with a white vest, black tie, and tailored black slacks. He oozed dominance and elegance.

When his gaze locked on mine, he smirked—and I blushed, caught off guard by his intense stare.

“Sir, this is Rachel. Rachel, this is my boss, Dante Voss,” Rex introduced.

I nodded, forcing my voice to stay even. “Good evening, Mr. Voss. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”

His eyes traveled slowly from my feet to my face. His smirk deepened. “Oh, the pleasure is mine.”

Then he turned to Rex, expression sharpening.

“You can leave.”

Rex blinked. “Oh, um... I thought I could stay with Rachel, sir.”

Dante’s gaze turned icy. “You can wait for her downstairs. Now. When I give an order, you follow it.”

Rex looked at me apologetically. “Sorry, Rach. I’ll wait downstairs.” With that, he left, closing the door behind him.

Alone with Mr. Intimidating, I tried to muster a sneer—though with my bruised face, it probably just looked ridiculous. Dante burst out laughing.

“Don’t pull that face,” he said with amusement. “You look ridiculous.”

He gestured toward a crimson couch in front of his massive desk. The room matched his aura: elegant and intimidating. Dark mahogany furniture, blood-red carpet, and deep red leather accents filled the space.

I sat, nerves buzzing as he took his seat behind the desk. His golden eyes pinned me in place, sharp and assessing.

“I invited you here to make you a proposition—one that will benefit us both.”

My heart skipped. “Okay... I’m listening.”

He leaned back, his voice calm and measured. “You’re human. But we call you a carrier. A carrier is a human woman capable of bearing a child with a royal vampire.”

I stared at him.

“My proposal is simple. I want you to become my carrier. Bear my child. In return, I’ll heal your brother, pay all your expenses, and provide you with a substantial amount of money. You’ll also be under full protection from werewolves.”

I blinked—and then burst into uncontrollable laughter. I doubled over, clutching my stomach as tears streamed from my eyes.

“You’re joking, right? Vampires? Werewolves? Carriers?” I wheezed. “Those don’t exist!”

Dante didn’t laugh. Instead, he sighed and raised a brow.

“I’m not joking. Vampires and werewolves are real. And you come from a carrier bloodline. I am Dante Voss, vampire prince. Nash is the alpha of the werewolves. They’ve been eradicating carriers for decades—you’re one of the last.”

I scoffed, leaning forward. “You expect me to believe that? That I’m some chosen breeder for vampire royalty, and that wolves are out to kill me? What a load of bullshit.”

A shadow passed over his face.

“Watch your tone. I’m being polite—for now. You can be mine willingly… or not. Either way, you are mine.”

I jumped to my feet, anger replacing my fear. “How about this? Go to hell with your creepy vampire delusions. President Voss, king of the crazies!”

I stormed to the door. His voice stopped me cold.

“You’ll come begging for my protection once the truth reveals itself.”

I turned to glare at him one last time. “Yeah, right.”

I slammed the door behind me.

Downstairs, Rex was waiting, holding my bag and my money.

He looked me over. “So… what did my boss want with you?”

“He’s insane,” I muttered, shaking my head. “I’m out of here.”

And I left him behind, heart pounding with confusion, fear… and a dangerous sense of curiosity.
