Chapter 5 – How mana work?

Question - How does the golem slash puppet type beings operate?

To operate the golem type creatures, their creator needs to use either of the two common methods.

The first method is the puppetry, an direct control of the creature every movement.

However, what if the user don't want to directly control the creature or doesn't have time to?

Then the second method comes in and it's the core engravement coding.

This method simple puts gives codes, commands and orders, simply put "Actions" that the creature can take and instruction how to fallow it, without needing to be directly controlled by their creator.

So, how is the core engravement done?

With magic.

You need to learn special form of mage craft in order to write the coding and give it to the creature in question.

Now here is another question: How to learn magic?

Magic usually revolves around special source of energy that can be found almost everywhere and in almost every living creature.

Mana.

However, even though its "there", doesn't mean you can use it.

To use magic, you need to fallow few steps in order to even start learning.

[1 – Sense]

[2 – Reaction]

[3 – Affinity]

The first step is about sensing the mana within your own being.

The second step is about causing your own mana inside of you to react in any form or shape.

And the third step is most important. Manifestation of affinity.

Mana by itself won't do anything, you need to give it an "nature" in order for it to be used.

And that is where the elemental mana and affinity comes in.

You need to create your own affinity for an element, an gateway of some that will allow you to handle specific element.

Those are the three base steps of learning magic. And truth to be told, each of these steps may take people a lot of time, with some people not being able to produce results even after week or maybe even months of training.

Now, what about the dungeon master? Can it use magic?

Well… Yes, its core is brimming with mana, so it should be able to use some magic in theory.

However, can it learn it?

And how long it would take?

Days? Weeks? Or maybe months before it completes its first step.

….

But in reality?

It managed to already complete both of the first steps in the spawn of 8 hours.

The dungeon master took only over 8 hours, to complete both [SENSE] and [REACTION] steps.

If you think about it logically, it shouldn't be possible for it to learn it fast?

Was it talent or natural gift?

Well, no.

Curiosity.

Golem type monsters creates something called pseudo nervous system using their mana that allows them to use mana to manipulate their body.

And this entire thing is managed by core.

The first step, sensing mana was somewhat easy for the dungeon master, thanks to its body and conscious.

The second step however was somewhat problematic, with the creature failing to do anything for two hours.

However, it then realized something.

Its core, it can change outputs depending on the circumstances.

So, it forced its own core to sometimes lose power or act up.

Somewhat torturing itself.

But it wasn't the real start of torture.

It attacked itself, destroying its own body, hands and feets, EVEN attacking its own main organ, the core.

Why?

REACTION.

It was curios what sort of reaction its own body would have if it couldn't work properly in some areas or if it couldn't connect properly.

This was madness.

But that madness, made the creature understand something.

It was seeing reactions.

It was seeing problems.

IT WAS GETTING CURIOS MORE AND MORE!

Those should have been an problem for the creature, the experiment it was doing to its own body, but it didn't cared.

It wanted to learn, even if it meant torturing itself.

And that self-inflicted torture was giving the creature results.

It felt differences. It felt reactions. It felt changes.

And it was using these things to learn and understand the mana.

The process was wild, but it gave results.

In only just 8 hours, the dungeon master was able to both sense its own mana and make it react.

It was some initial talent or anything like that. It was just the mad monster curiosity.

However, those were only the baby steps.

Next obviously came the affinity, an key part needed to learn magic.

And obviously, the dungeon master did not had any single affinity for any element.

So, it needed to manifest its own affinity, all from the scratch in order to use spells.

However, the dungeon master had already selected an affinity it would be aiming for.

But while it was trying to manifest its own affinity, there was something else going on.

Not in the dungeon.

But in the town.

[Location: Rabbit Town]

Rabbit town.

It wasn't an very big town, if anything it was an very small town and very peaceful town at that.

However, even though it was small and peaceful, this town was known for its nickname.

[The beginner town.]

Reason why it was called that?

Simple.

This town was an perfect location for many young adventures to start the journey and learn the ropes.

Yes.

An peaceful location where you can easily start and develop.

However, even the most peaceful areas aren't perfectly safe.

Especially in areas where the adventures work.

[Current location: Adventure guild – guild master office.]

"…"

"What did you just said?" – asked the man with brown short beard.

"My little brother. Arthur. He had went missing." – said the young man with black hair who was carrying an sword on his back.

"…"

*Sigh*

"Look, maybe he is camping or something. It's not- "

"He was hunting horned rabbits. He was in the fucking area. But he is gone." – said the man with black hair.

"His current talent is that of a an E rank and very close to D rank."

"His teammates are the same."

"However, they went missing."

"None of the people who were on the horned rabbit grounds had saw."

"There is no way they would get killed by horned rabbits."

"And even if they did, there would be some traces or anything."

"So where the fuck is my brother?!"

"…"

"Is this true?" – said the bearded man while looking past the man, staring directly at the young girl with short hair.

"Y-yes sir… Arthur and his team had been completely silent. The parents of the young mage and archer had also asked where are their children." – replied the girl.

"…"

(Arthur and his friends went missing?) – though the bearded man.

(Arthur was greedy, hot headed and over confided, just like his brother here.)

(But he and his friends had talent to show for…. Honestly, they even managed to got my attention, since they did showed a lot of potential from get go.)

(But for these guys to go missing out of a blue? Against the monsters that they would have zero problem dealing with or sustaining any injuries alongside the fact that there are no traces left after them?)

"…"

(There is something "off" going on right now.)

"Fine."

"I will post the missing posters in the town and also post the search quest."

"You will have my world that I will what ever in my power as the guild master in order to find your missing brother and his party."

[Guild master of the Rabbit Town – August]
