Chapter 3 – Eternatus, I’m Coming for You!

Legendary Pokémon—often referred to as gods—almost all wielded world-shaking power.

Lugia could summon storms that lasted three days and nights with a flap of its wings.

Ho-Oh could resurrect the dead.

Primal Kyogre could flood the world without restraint.

Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina could control time, space, and antimatter…

To the ambitious, Legendaries were the ultimate power.

Everyone desired the power of the Legendaries. But they were nearly impossible to find—and even harder to control.

Yet if someone could obtain one… they would truly stand atop the world!

"Entei is nothing compared to Eternatus…"

After recalling his Rhyperior, Lucas gently twirled a Poké Ball between his fingers. His crimson eyes shimmered with eager anticipation as he continued heading deeper into the Energy Plant.

As a genius born into the Blackthorn Clan, Lucas was naturally gifted with the power of dragons!

He could feel the presence of dragons—especially one deep within the core of this facility.

He could sense it. A dragon of immense power lay dormant in the depths of this Energy Plant, longing to break free from its prison.

A top-tier legendary Pokémon, chained down by humans—of course it would be resentful.

"Don't worry… just a little longer. I'm almost there~"

"Hm? What's this?"

In the control room of the Energy Plant, a staff member casually glanced at a surveillance monitor and immediately froze.

A young man in a fitted white cloak had appeared inside the facility, walking boldly toward the warehouse area!

More disturbingly, as if aware of the surveillance, the white-cloaked youth even looked up and flashed a wicked grin at the camera?

A smile?

That had to be provocation, right? That was absolutely a provocation!

"Security breach! Alert! Unknown intruder in Sector B!"

The staff member reacted instantly, slamming the alarm button and notifying the security team within the facility.

Damn it! These guards are useless! The intruder got all the way here and they didn't even notice?!

"Oh? Finally noticed me?"

Following the dragon's aura deeper into the plant, Lucas raised an eyebrow as he saw several guards rushing toward him.

He wasn't surprised in the least—he never had any intention of hiding.

Sneaking in?

No need. Because—

"Stop right there! Who are you?!"

The lead guard drew a stun baton and released a group of Sirfetch'd, questioning Lucas with a serious tone.

Their security was supposed to be airtight. No one had come through the entrance—so how did this guy appear?

"Just a bunch of trash."

Lucas tilted his head up, grinning. Under the dazzling industrial lights, his sharp white teeth appeared menacingly cold.

"Tyranitar, Hyper Beam."

Without hesitation, he casually tossed the Poké Ball in his hand and continued walking forward, completely unbothered.

"Raaaargh!"

With a flash of light, a massive and terrifying beast crashed heavily onto the ground. A destructive black energy beam surged from Tyranitar's mouth.

"Sirfetch'd, Protect!"

The guards' pupils shrank. A bone-chilling sense of danger swept through them.

This guy… he didn't even hesitate before attacking them with his Pokémon!

Being assigned to guard the Energy Plant meant they were elite, so the lead guard quickly responded by sending out Sirfetch'd.

But he hadn't expected this mysterious intruder to be this ruthless!

And this Tyranitar… was overwhelmingly strong!

Sirfetch'd raised its leek sword like a spear, a green glow forming.

Protect—a move capable of blocking any attack.

But before the move could fully activate, the Hyper Beam had already struck.

BOOM!

A deafening blast echoed as the Hyper Beam exploded on impact. The shockwave from the explosion sent the three guards flying, slamming them hard into the ground.

As for Sirfetch'd—it lay battered and unconscious on the floor.

"So weak. With strength like this, wouldn't you be better off finding safer jobs? Don't even think about getting back up."

Casting a dismissive glance at the three guards trying to lift their heads, Lucas curled his lips into a mocking sneer and walked past them.

"Damn it!"

The three guards gritted their teeth in humiliation, glaring hatefully at the intruder's back.

Their pride as humans told them they were being mocked and humiliated—they couldn't just let this guy stroll in without consequence!

But their battered bodies told them otherwise. They couldn't even stand…

Even though the Hyper Beam hadn't hit them directly, they were still just humans—not Pokémon. The injuries from the explosion's aftermath were already severe.

--------------------

In the deepest part of the Energy Plant, a tall, elegant woman furrowed her brows slightly and asked the staff beside her:

"What's going on?"

She had waterfall-like golden hair, wore a white lab coat over a red business dress, and black-gray stockings wrapped around her long, slender legs.

This woman was Oleana—the secretary to Chairman Rose of the Galar League and the vice president of Macro Cosmos.

A key figure in Galar's league and commercial world alike.

"I-I'm sorry! Someone's broken into the Energy Plant, but please rest assured—we'll resolve it shortly!"

The lab coat-wearing staff member lowered his head quickly in panic. Although Oleana usually appeared calm and composed, those who knew her well understood—she had a notoriously short fuse.

As Rose's right hand, Oleana was highly capable. Because of this, most of Rose's responsibilities had been delegated to her.

The immense long-term pressure made her mentally taut, prone to snapping in anger—though she always reined herself in quickly.

"Resolve it shortly? Then how do you explain that person?"

Oleana's expression darkened as she coldly glanced out the floor-to-ceiling window at the white-cloaked youth and pointed him out.

Useless. They'd actually allowed someone to reach this point.

Regardless, she had to protect Chairman Rose's secret. The plan had yet to begin—Eternatus must not be exposed!

That's right. This entire Energy Plant belonged to Rose.

Publicly hailed as Galar's perfect chairman, he was secretly sealingraised, even—the very Eternatus that nearly destroyed the entire Galar region.

---------------------

"Right here… this is where you are, Eternatus~"

Outside a massive chamber, Lucas's handsome face was lit with uncontainable joy. His crimson eyes burned with anticipation as he gazed toward the room ahead.

He could feel it—Eternatus was inside!

"Tyranitar, smash the lock."

Taking two steps back, Lucas didn't hesitate to order the Tyranitar beside him.

The most powerful and most malevolent legendary Pokémon in Galar—he would be the one to set it free!

"TYRANITAR!"

With a roar, Tyranitar gathered destructive black energy in its mouth again.

"Milotic, Hydro Pump!"

Just then, a cold, angry voice called out.

A massive jet of water surged from a distance, aiming straight at Tyranitar.

"Knew someone would show up to get in the way…"

Lucas narrowed his eyes and turned around to see Oleana standing there. In front of her was a stunningly elegant Milotic, coiled like a water serpent.

Lucas had already seen her earlier—this woman was quite famous in Galar, and of course, he recognized her.

Tyranitar sensed the incoming Hydro Pump and immediately redirected the charged Hyper Beam toward it.

The two attacks collided violently, but to Oleana's dismay, Hyper Beam quickly overpowered Hydro Pump!

Not only that, it continued pushing forward with unrelenting force!

"Protect!"

Milotic had clearly been well-trained. It swiftly formed a green shield and blocked the Hyper Beam.

An explosion rang out. Smoke and dust filled the air.

When it cleared, a panting Milotic stood in front of Lucas, while Oleana—her beautiful face—looked visibly displeased.

"Quite unexpected. The famously workaholic Ms. Oleana turns out to be a rather capable trainer too."

Lucas raised an eyebrow, eyeing her up and down. Although the words sounded like praise, his deliberately surprised expression made it feel… overly familiar.

"…Who are you? And why did you break into this facility?"

Oleana forced herself to suppress her rising fury. Lucas's gaze was far too indecent!

It kept wandering to her chest and legs—damn it! Ever since she became Rose's secretary, no one had ever dared to look at her like that!

But she knew she had to stay calm. Even with just that brief exchange, she could already tell—this seemingly young man was absurdly strong.

Tyranitar is a pseudo-legendary Pokémon—one not easily owned by ordinary people. Especially not one of this strength.

Although she could sense this intruder was dangerous, Oleana's cautious nature urged her to remain composed.

"Lucas. A pleasure to meet the beautiful Ms. Oleana."

Lucas gave a gentlemanly bow and introduced himself with a smile.

Though proud and arrogant, he did have proper etiquette—after all, he came from the prestigious Blackthorn Clan.

"Lucas…?"

Oleana furrowed her brow. Lucas? She'd never heard the name.

With such strength, there's no way this trainer would be unknown—unless that was a false alias?

"Perhaps Ms. Oleana doesn't know me, but maybe this will jog your memory."

Lucas grinned and tossed something toward her.

He wasn't in a rush. Eternatus was within reach. He knew Oleana must've called reinforcements—but so what?

They were nothing but small fry.

Catching the small object, Oleana saw a silver badge—simple in design, bearing a large capital R.

Her mind raced. Then she instantly understood what that "R" meant.

"Team Rocket!"

Her face changed.

Though Galar was far from Kanto, as someone handling most of Rose's affairs, she was well aware of that name.

The evil organization that dominated Indigo's criminal underworld—Team Rocket!

"As expected of Ms. Oleana. Allow me to reintroduce myself. I am Lucas, an executive of Team Rocket."

Lucas's smile deepened. Even if she didn't know everything, someone of Oleana's status would at least stay informed about major organizations in other regions.

And Team Rocket, the giant shadow covering Indigo's underworld, surely fell under her radar.

Why did he join Team Rocket?

For moments exactly like this!

"…Team Rocket. So, they've set their sights on the Galar region now? How arrogant."

Oleana took a deep breath. Her sharp gaze locked onto Lucas.

Team Rocket, the infamous criminal group, had risen in just over a decade to engulf the entire both Johto and Kanto Region. They were anything but simple.

But she had truly not expected that this man was from Team Rocket.

Especially since Indigo and Galar were separated by an entire ocean!
